Key Features

Solid Beech Strength Made from solid beech hardwood, these tenons are built for strong mortise and tenon joints that hold up in furniture, door, and frame work. No-Twist Alignment The flat, elongated DOMINO shape resists rotation in the mortise, so parts stay lined up during edge gluing and frame assembly. Large DF 700 Size These Festool D 8x100/150 BU Beech DOMINO Tenons are sized at 8 mm x 4" (100 mm) for the Festool DF 700, making them a practical choice for larger joinery work.

Overview

The Festool D 8x100/150 BU Beech DOMINO Tenons are solid beech floating tenons for the Festool DOMINO joining system, Model Number 498213. This is a tenon accessory designed for mortise and tenon joinery with the Festool DF 700. If you need a fast, repeatable way to build strong joints in larger wood parts, this pack gives you 150 tenons sized for that job.

At 8 mm x 4" (100 mm), these tenons are meant for applications where a small connector is not enough. The long format gives you more glue area and more holding strength than smaller joinery options, which matters when you are building doors, frames, bases, or other assemblies that need real structural support. Festool also machines the tenons slightly shorter than nominal length, leaving room in the mortise for glue instead of forcing a hydraulic mess during assembly.

The shape is a big part of why the DOMINO system works so well. A round dowel can spin and a biscuit can shift, but the flat, elongated profile on these Festool tenons helps keep parts aligned. That makes edge-to-edge glue-ups and face frame work easier to manage because the joint helps register the parts while the glue sets. On bigger assemblies, that saves time and cuts down on fighting clamps.

The surface is embossed with glue pockets and expansion slots, which is not just a nice detail. Those channels help spread glue around the joint and give excess glue somewhere to go. The result is more consistent coverage through the mortise without starving the joint. If you do production work or repeat assemblies, that kind of consistency matters more than flashy features.

Material matters here too. Festool specifies all-natural solid beech hardwood, not a soft compressed insert. Beech is stable, strong, and predictable in joinery, which is exactly what you want from a floating tenon. These are also FSC-certified, which is worth noting for shops and contractors who care about responsibly sourced wood products.

Compatibility is straightforward. These tenons are listed by Festool as suitable for the DF 700. That makes them a fit for larger DOMINO XL-style joinery where longer, stronger connectors are the point. If you already run a DF 700 and want a dependable stock tenon for casework, furniture, doors, and structural wood assemblies, this is the right accessory to keep on hand.

Who should buy them? Woodworkers, cabinetmakers, finish carpenters, furniture builders, and remodelers who use the DF 700 and want strong, repeatable joints without the layout time of traditional integral tenons. If your work involves larger stock, longer glue surfaces, or assemblies that need to stay square during glue-up, these are the DOMINO tenons you reach for.

Built for Stronger Joinery

When the joint needs more than simple alignment help, these tenons give you the length and hardwood strength to make the connection count.

• Solid beech construction for durable mortise and tenon joints
• 4" (100 mm) length adds glue surface for larger assemblies

Keep Parts Aligned During Glue-Up

The flat DOMINO profile helps stop the joint from twisting, which makes assembly cleaner and more predictable than round connectors.

• Rotation-resistant shape supports edge and face gluing
• Useful for frames, rails, stiles, and furniture parts that need to stay registered

Designed to Work with Glue, Not Fight It

The embossed surface and slight length reduction give glue room to spread through the mortise, which helps with cleaner assembly and full joint coverage.

• Glue expansion slots help distribute adhesive
• Approximately 1/16" (2 mm) shorter than nominal length to leave space in the mortise

Stock Up for Repetitive Work

A 150-piece pack makes sense for shop use, repeat assemblies, or keeping common DF 700 joinery sizes ready to go instead of stopping mid-project.

• Includes 150 beech DOMINO tenons
• Good fit for production furniture and repeated frame construction

Pro Tip

If you're gluing up larger frames or furniture parts with these 100 mm tenons, dry-fit first and confirm clamp access before adding glue. Longer DOMINO joints go together fast, but once glue is in play you want your alignment and clamping plan sorted out.
