Key Features

Fast, Repeatable Layout The Woodpeckers Saddle-T6 T-Square is built to mark clean, consistent lines across stock without fighting a loose square or eyeballing offsets. That matters when you are laying out joinery and want every mark to land where it should the first time. Beveled Edge Guidance The beveled edge is designed to reduce parallax error and help guide perpendicular marking more accurately. In plain terms, you can see your line better and place it with more confidence. Made in USA This layout tool is made in the USA and sized to stay close at hand. It is the kind of square you can keep in a pocket, grab quickly, and use all day at the bench.

Overview

The Woodpeckers Saddle-T6 T-Square, Model SDLT0619, is a compact woodworking layout tool made for accurate marking and joinery setup. This is a T-square designed for precise layout and perpendicular marking on wood stock. If you want a small square that is easier to keep nearby than a full-size rule but still gives you reliable reference lines, this is the one this tool is aimed at.

What stands out right away is how the Saddle-T6 is meant to simplify layout instead of slowing it down. The images show it being used directly on the edge of a workpiece for cross marks and joinery layout, which is exactly where a tool like this earns its keep. Rather than measuring, shifting, and re-checking from multiple reference points, you can register the tool against the stock and mark from the ruled body. That speeds up repetitive bench work and helps keep your marks consistent from piece to piece.

The Woodpeckers Saddle-T6 T-Square also uses a beveled edge to reduce parallax error and guide perpendicular marking more precisely. That is a practical feature, not fluff. On layout tools, the difference between seeing the exact registration point and guessing at it can mean the difference between a joint that closes cleanly and one that needs fixing later. Better visibility at the edge helps you put the pencil or marking knife where it belongs.

From the images, this tool is clearly built for woodworking bench work where accuracy and repeatability matter more than bulk. The body appears compact enough to carry in an apron or pocket, and Woodpeckers even shows it pocketed for quick access. That makes sense for cabinetmakers, furniture builders, and serious hobby woodworkers who move between machines and the bench and do not want to keep walking back to a full-size square for every line.

The Saddle-T6 is part of Woodpeckers' Saddle-T lineup, and the product images show the broader Rack-It storage setup for organizing other Saddle-T squares in the series. Even if you are buying this size for compact work, it is clearly intended to fit into a system used for different stock sizes and layout tasks. For shops that like dedicated setup tools instead of making one square do everything, that matters.

Who should buy it? Anyone doing joinery layout, small part layout, or general woodworking marking where a compact square is more useful than a framing-style tool. If you mostly build cabinets, drawers, boxes, furniture parts, or trim details at the bench, this style of T-square makes a lot of sense. If your work is rough framing or jobsite carpentry, you will probably want something bigger. But for fine layout on wood, the Woodpeckers Saddle-T6 T-Square is aimed right at the sweet spot.

Built for Bench-Top Layout

This is where a compact layout square earns its place. The Woodpeckers Saddle-T6 T-Square is shown doing exactly the kind of work most woodworkers buy it for: quick, square marks on stock for joinery and part layout.

• Designed to simplify joinery layout on wood stock
• Compact format is easier to handle on smaller workpieces

See the Mark More Clearly

Woodpeckers calls out the beveled edge for a reason. It helps reduce parallax error, which means you get a cleaner visual reference when placing your mark and a better chance of hitting the exact line you intended.

• Beveled edge reduces parallax error
• Helps guide perpendicular marking on flat stock

Easy to Keep Within Reach

A layout tool only helps if you actually keep it close. The pocketable size shown here makes the Saddle-T6 a good fit for woodworkers who want a dedicated square they can grab fast instead of hunting around the bench.

• Compact form factor for quick access
• Made in USA

Woodpeckers Saddle-T6 T-Square for Woodworkers Who Care About Their Layout

The Woodpeckers Saddle-T6 T-Square is the kind of small shop tool that saves more time than its size suggests because accurate layout keeps everything downstream moving right.

• Who it's for: Woodworkers, cabinet guys, furniture builders, and serious DIY users doing bench-top layout and joinery work.
• Why it stands out: The compact size, clear ruled layout format, and beveled edge make it better suited to precise marking than a bulky general-purpose square.
• Worth knowing: This is a specialized layout tool, not a one-tool-does-everything square. If your work is small parts and joinery, that specialization is exactly the point.
