Key Features

Common Angles, Fast The block gives you hard references for five common miter angles, so you can set a bevel gauge quickly without fiddling around or second-guessing your layout. Repeatable Layout It also covers three common dovetail angles, which makes it useful when you want the same setup again and again on joinery, miter work, and angle transfer. Built in Ohio Made and inspected at Woodpeckers' Strongsville, Ohio facility, this bevel block is built for woodworkers who want a dependable physical reference instead of eyeballing angles.

Overview

The Woodpeckers BVLBLK-23 Bevel Block is a layout and setup accessory for woodworkers who want fast, repeatable angle references at the bench or on a project. This is a bevel block designed for setting and checking common woodworking angles. Model Number: BVLBLK-23. If you already use a sliding bevel gauge or regularly lay out miters and dovetails, this gives you a direct physical reference instead of relying on guesswork.

What matters here is speed and consistency. The Woodpeckers BVLBLK-23 Bevel Block provides the five most common miter angles: 15, 22.5, 30, 36, and 45. Those are the angles you reach for all the time in trim work, box work, casework, and general layout. Instead of setting an angle by eye or hunting around for a printed chart, you can register your gauge against the block and get on with the cut or layout line.

It also gives you reference surfaces for the three most common dovetail angles: 6:1, 7:1, and 8:1. That is useful when you are laying out joinery and want an actual physical standard in your hand. For a lot of woodworkers, that is more reliable than working from memory or trying to interpret a drawing when you are in the middle of a build.

One of the smarter parts of the design is that the block is not limited to just the marked faces. By working from different sides, you can reference the primary angle, its complement, and its supplement. In real shop use, that means one block can handle more setup tasks than the markings alone suggest. It is a simple idea, but it saves time when you are moving between miter layout, bevel gauge setup, and angle transfer.

This accessory is meant to complement Woodpeckers Sliding Bevel Gauges, and that pairing makes sense for anyone who does repeat layout work. Set the gauge from the block, lock it in, and carry that angle wherever you need it. That is especially handy when the workpiece or machine setup is awkward and you want a solid reference instead of trying to read a scale.

The Woodpeckers BVLBLK-23 Bevel Block is made and inspected in Strongsville, Ohio. That matters because this type of tool lives or dies on trust. If a physical reference block is going to earn space on your bench, it needs to be something you can reach for without wondering if it is close enough.

This is best for woodworkers, cabinetmakers, trim carpenters, furniture builders, and serious DIY users who care about layout accuracy and repeatability. If you already own a sliding bevel gauge and want a faster way to set common angles, this is the accessory that makes that gauge more useful. If you do a lot of dovetail or miter work, it is the kind of small shop aid that saves more time than its size suggests.
