Two Packs, No Downtime This M12 battery 2-pack lets one XC 4.0Ah pack charge while the other runs, so your 12V tools keep working through a full day. More Work Per Charge Milwaukee rates each pack for up to 2X more runtime, 20% more power and 2X more recharges than standard lithium-ion batteries. Works When It's Cold The packs perform in climates below 0F (-18C), so unheated garages, service vans and winter jobsites don't shut you down.

Overview

The Milwaukee 48-11-2440-2x M12 REDLITHIUM XC 4.0Ah Extended Capacity Battery 2-Pack gives Milwaukee M12 users two extended capacity batteries in one purchase. This is a 12V lithium-ion battery pack set designed for powering Milwaukee M12 cordless tools longer between charges. Each pack is the 4.0Ah model 48-11-2440, so you get double the capacity on hand and the ability to swap a fresh pack in while the other charges.

Milwaukee rates the REDLITHIUM XC 4.0 for up to 2X more runtime, 20% more power and 2X more recharges than standard lithium-ion batteries. On the job, that means an M12 drill, impact driver, ratchet, light or inspection tool keeps doing useful work instead of fading halfway through a task. Two packs turn that into all-day runtime for most 12V users: one in the tool, one on the charger.

The electronics do as much work as the cells. Milwaukee's REDLINK Intelligence links the tool, battery and charger as one system. Overload protection keeps you from damaging the tool in heavy-duty use, discharge protection prevents cell damage from running a pack too low, and temperature management with individual cell monitoring helps maximize battery life. The packs are built to run cooler and deliver fade-free power in tough jobsite conditions.

Cold weather is where many batteries give up. Milwaukee builds these packs to perform below 0F (-18C), which matters for outdoor service work, unheated mechanical rooms and trucks parked overnight in winter. A durable rubber overmold helps protect each pack from everyday drops and knocks.

Charge times are practical. Milwaukee rates a full charge at about 60 minutes on its M12 Rapid Charger or Supercharger and about 77 minutes on a standard M12 charger. Charger is not included in this 2-pack, so you'll need an M12 charger such as the Milwaukee 48-59-2401 if you don't already have one.

Compatibility is simple: these batteries power most Milwaukee M12 cordless tools, and Milwaukee counts over 150 tools on the platform. Each pack weighs about 0.88 lbs, so the extra capacity doesn't turn a compact 12V tool into a heavy one.

Who should buy it? Electricians, plumbers, HVAC techs, automotive and maintenance techs, and serious DIYers who run Milwaukee M12 tools every day and are tired of babysitting compact packs. If you need even more runtime per pack for lights, heated gear or higher-draw tools, step up to the 48-11-2460 XC 6.0Ah.

One in the Tool, One on the Charger
