Smart Battery Protection Digital communication with XGT tools and chargers actively monitors overload, over-discharge, and overheating for better pack protection under heavy load. Built for XGT 40V max packs for Makita XGT tools, with an impact-resistant case, shock-absorbing inner liner, and rigid rails that keep the pack locked to the tool.

Overview

This 2-pack includes two Makita BL4040 40V max XGT 4.0Ah Lithium-Ion batteries for Makita's XGT cordless platform. Model Number: BL4040 (x2).

A 4.0Ah pack balances runtime against size and weight. Makita rates each BL4040 for a full charge in 45 minutes or less on a compatible XGT charger (sold separately), and a built-in 4-LED fuel gauge shows charge level before you start work.

The battery communicates digitally with compatible XGT tools and chargers to optimize performance and, per Makita, provide up to 2X longer sustained power under heavy-load applications. It actively monitors for overload, over-discharge, and overheating, and Makita's enhanced cooling design supports battery life and charging efficiency.

For durability, each pack has an impact-resistant outer case, a shock-absorbing inner liner, and rigid rails designed to keep the battery secured to the tool during high-demand use.

This 2-pack is for Makita XGT users running saws, grinders, rotary hammers, blowers, and other high-demand 40V max tools who want two packs in rotation. These batteries work only on the XGT platform.
