Overview

The Milwaukee M18 PACKOUT Six Bay Rapid Charger, model 48-59-1809, is a multi-bay battery charger for Milwaukee M18 cordless batteries. This is a battery charger designed for charging and managing multiple M18 battery packs on the jobsite or in the shop. If you are running several M18 tools in rotation, this charger matters because it reduces downtime, cuts charger clutter, and keeps your batteries organized in one place instead of spread across a bench full of single chargers.

The big advantage here is how the charger handles real-world workflow. It charges two batteries simultaneously at a rapid charge rate, then automatically advances to the next two bays. Milwaukee states its rapid charging is up to 40% faster than standard rate chargers, and it can charge six M18 XC 5.0 batteries in 3 hours. For contractors, maintenance crews, and serious DIY users with multiple packs, that means less standing around waiting for batteries to cycle and less time deciding which charger has an open slot.

This charger is also built around portability, not just bench use. The integrated carry handle makes it easy to move from truck to shop to jobsite, and the PACKOUT compatibility gives it a practical edge over a standard six-port charger. If you already use PACKOUT boxes, totes, or mounting solutions, this charger becomes part of the same system instead of another loose item rolling around in the van. Milwaukee also notes it can be wall-mounted through PACKOUT mounting accessories, which is useful for trailer builds and fixed charging stations.

Milwaukee did not stop at charging bays. The charger includes a USB-A port rated at 5V/2.1A (10W) for phones, tablets, headlamps, and other small electronics. There are also side storage caddies for personal devices while they charge. That is a small feature on paper, but on a busy site it keeps your phone or light off the floor and in one place while your battery packs are charging.

From a system standpoint, this unit is straightforward and useful. It is compatible with all M18 batteries, uses corded AC power, and applies REDLINK Intelligence to optimize charge rates based on battery type and temperature. In practical terms, that means the charger is built to protect battery health while still moving packs through faster than a basic charger. If you have a mixed lineup of compact, extended-capacity, and high-demand M18 packs, that broad compatibility is a real reason to buy this instead of piecing together multiple chargers.

Physically, it is compact enough to be portable but substantial enough to feel like jobsite equipment. The housing is listed as polycarbonate, and the unit measures 15.1 inches long, 9.76 inches wide, and 12.12 inches high. Weight is listed by Milwaukee at 7.91 lb, which is reasonable for a six-bay rapid charger with an integrated handle and PACKOUT-ready form. The corded design also means you are not giving up charging performance for portability.

Who should buy it? This charger makes the most sense for anyone deeply invested in the Milwaukee M18 platform, especially contractors, service techs, remodelers, electricians, plumbers, and concrete or mechanical crews who burn through several battery packs in a shift. If you only own one or two M18 batteries, it is probably more charger than you need. But if you are managing a stack of packs and want a cleaner, faster charging setup that actually travels with your gear, this is the right kind of upgrade.

Charge More Without the Charger Mess

If you are tired of lining up a bunch of single chargers and chasing open outlets, this setup cleans that up fast. One charger handles six packs, with two charging at a rapid rate at a time.

• Six M18 charging bays in one unit
• Charges two batteries simultaneously, then advances automatically to the next pair
• Milwaukee states six M18 XC 5.0 batteries can be charged in 3 hours
