Key Features

Smooth, Gear-Driven Cut A gear-driven air motor reduces vibration compared to typical recipro saws, so you can run longer cuts without the fatigue that comes with a harsher-cutting tool. Swivel Air Inlet & Rear Exhaust The swivel inlet keeps the hose from fighting you in tight spots, and rear-mounted exhaust routes air away from the cut line and your line of sight. Cuts Steel, FRP, Rubber & Resin Rated to cut steel, fiberglass-reinforced plastic, rubber, and resin including bumper and body panel material without switching to a torch or angle grinder.

Overview

The SP Air SP-7610 Recipro Saw (Gear Type) is a pneumatic reciprocating saw built by SP Air Corporation, a Vessel Co., Inc. brand, for cutting steel, FRP, rubber, and resin including bumpers and other body panel material. It runs a 0.47-in. stroke at 5,300 strokes per minute, driven by a gear-type air motor rather than a straight piston design.

That gear-driven motor is the SP-7610's main practical advantage: SP Air specifically markets it for reduced vibration compared to standard recipro saws, which translates directly into a smoother, more comfortable cut on longer jobs. A swivel air inlet keeps the hose from binding as you rotate the tool into position, and rear-mounted exhaust keeps air blast away from your cut line and face. An onboard air regulator and a safety lever round out the control layout, and a blade guide helps keep the blade tracking straight through the cut.

At 8.15 in. long and 1.3 lbs, it's light enough for overhead and one-handed work, and its 86.5 dB sound rating is typical for a compact air saw of this class. The housing pairs an aluminum body with an ergonomic grip section.

SP Air's own product material positions the SP-7610 for auto body and bumper removal, marine fabrication, and general shop cutting of resin and rubber panels jobs where a full-size reciprocating saw is too bulky and a torch isn't an option.

It's a fit for auto body techs, marine fabricators, and shop hands who need a compact, low-vibration air saw dedicated to bumper covers, plastic trim, rubber, and light steel not a replacement for a corded demolition saw on structural cutting.

Built to Cut Longer Without Beating Up Your Hands

The SP-7610 pairs a 0.47-in., 5,300-strokes-per-minute cutting action with a gear-driven air motor specifically to cut down on the vibration that makes long recipro saw runs fatiguing.

• 5,300 strokes per minute, 0.47-in. stroke length
• 8.15 in. long and 1.3 lbs for one-handed control

Gear-Type Motor Under the Hood

A cutaway of the SP-7610 shows the gear-driven motor SP Air built specifically to smooth out the cutting action versus a standard piston-drive recipro saw.

• Gear-type drive reduces vibration transfer to the grip
• Built-in air regulator and blade guide for controlled cutting

The Recipro Saw for Bumpers, Not Beams

The SP-7610 Recipro Saw is a purpose-built air saw for cutting bumper covers, trim, rubber, and light steel without dragging out a torch or a full-size demo saw.

• Who it's for: Auto body techs, marine fabricators, and shop hands doing regular bumper, panel, and resin/rubber cutting.
• Why it stands out: A gear-driven motor specifically engineered for lower vibration than a standard recipro saw, in an 8.15-in., 1.3-lb body.
• Worth knowing: SP Air doesn't publish an air pressure or CFM consumption spec for this model confirm your compressor and hose setup with Tool Nut before ordering.
