Key Features

Light for Overhead Work At about 7 lbs, this wall sander is easier to control through long sanding sessions on walls and ceilings. Less weight means less arm fatigue and steadier results when you are working overhead. Flexible Sanding Head The head swivels to work at different angles and stay planted on the surface. That helps you reach walls, ceilings, edges, and tight spots without fighting the tool. Vacuum-Ready Wall Sander Dual suction points support efficient dust extraction, so the Mirka wall sander stays cleaner on drywall and finishing work. That means better visibility, less cleanup, and less dust hanging in the room.

Overview

The Mirka LEROS-S 950XCV 9 Inch 5mm Wall Sander with Bag is a compact wall and ceiling sander built for fast surface prep in tighter indoor spaces. This is a wall sander designed for sanding drywall compound, fillers, and large painted or finished surfaces on walls and ceilings. Model Number: MIW95021BAUS. If you want broad sanding coverage without hauling around a full-length drywall sander, this shorter LEROS-S setup makes a lot of sense.

What matters most here is the combination of a 9 inch backing pad, 5 mm random orbital movement, and a brushless motor. The large pad helps cover more surface area per pass, which is useful when you are leveling wide sections of wall or ceiling. The 5 mm orbit is aimed at producing a better surface finish than more aggressive sanding patterns, so you can move material efficiently without giving up control.

Mirka built this sander to reduce the usual overhead strain that comes with wall prep. At only about 7 lbs, it is much easier to handle for extended periods than heavier wall sanders. That lighter build matters in bathrooms, closets, hallways, and other confined spaces where a longer machine can feel awkward or nose-heavy. The shorter body also improves maneuverability when you are turning around ladders, doorways, or tight corners.

The flexible sanding head is a big part of why this tool stands out. It swivels to different angles so the pad stays in better contact with the surface while you work. Mirka also places the sanding head fixation point close to the surface, which helps stabilize the sanding process and gives the operator more direct feedback. In plain terms, the tool feels easier to guide instead of feeling like the head is floating away from the wall.

For edge work and room transitions, the head and backing pad design let you work close to corners and edges. That saves time because you can get more done with the sander before switching to hand sanding. On patchwork, skim coat blending, and final drywall prep, that kind of reach matters because it cuts down on tool changes and keeps the finish more consistent across the surface.

Dust control is also part of the package. This vacuum-ready wall sander uses dual suction points for more efficient dust extraction, which helps keep abrasive loading down and the work area cleaner. On drywall and interior remodeling jobs, better dust pickup is not just about cleanup. It also helps you see the surface better while sanding so you can catch ridges, low spots, and remaining mud sooner.

There is some useful tech built in too. Bluetooth connectivity works with the myMirka app, giving you access to vibration, speed, and usage data. For a pro crew or anyone tracking wear and runtime across tools, that adds a layer of jobsite visibility you do not usually get from a drywall sander.

The Mirka LEROS-S 950XCV 9 Inch 5mm Wall Sander with Bag is a strong fit for drywall finishers, painters, remodelers, and serious interior contractors who need a lightweight sander for overhead and close-quarters work. It is especially well suited to smaller rooms and punch-list work where a longer wall sander can be harder to manage. If your priority is low fatigue, good control, broad sanding coverage, and clean operation with a vacuum setup, this one is built for that job.

Built for Tight Interior Spaces

This shorter LEROS-S configuration is made for rooms where a long-reach drywall sander becomes clumsy. You get better control around small rooms, narrow walls, and overhead transitions without giving up the wide 9 inch sanding footprint.

• Shorter body improves maneuverability in confined work areas
• 9 inch backing pad helps level large wall sections faster

Stay Comfortable on Walls and Ceilings

At roughly 7 lbs, this sander is built to reduce fatigue when the work is above shoulder height. That lower weight makes a real difference when you are blending compound on ceilings or sanding full rooms in one stretch.

• Approximately 7 lbs assembled weight
• Two dedicated grip points support better control through long passes

Cleaner Sanding and Better Surface Control

The vacuum-ready design and flexible head are what make this tool practical on real finish work. Efficient dust extraction helps keep the abrasive cutting, while the close-to-surface head mounting improves stability so the tool tracks where you want it.

• Dual suction points support efficient dust extraction
• Flexible head swivels to maintain contact across walls, ceilings, edges, and corners
