Overview

The Mirka 23-314-400 PSA Disc Roll 5 in P400 PK100 is a pack of 5-inch pressure-sensitive adhesive sanding discs for fine sanding and polishing work. This is a PSA sanding disc roll designed for finish sanding and polishing. Model Number: 23-314-400. If you need a finer grit for smoothing surfaces before final finishing, this is the kind of abrasive that belongs in the drawer instead of a coarser prep disc.

The P400 grit puts this Mirka sanding disc firmly in the finishing range. That makes it a practical choice when the job has already been shaped and leveled, and now you need to refine the surface, reduce visible scratch patterns, or prep for the next coating or polishing step. It is not meant for aggressive removal. It is meant for controlled, lighter sanding where consistency matters.

Mirka uses aluminum oxide abrasive here, which is a proven material for general-purpose sanding. In real use, that matters because it gives you a reliable cut without turning this into a specialty-only disc. Mirka also calls out a coated construction, a semi-open coating, and a special stearate treatment intended to reduce clogging and pilling. That is the kind of detail that helps when you are sanding finer material and do not want the disc loading up too quickly.

The PSA backing is the other big reason to buy this product. Pressure-sensitive adhesive discs are straightforward: peel, stick, sand, replace. For users doing repeated changeouts, that can be faster and cleaner than messing with other attachment styles when the tool or pad setup is already built around PSA. If your workflow depends on quick disc swaps and a flat, secure hold, PSA still gets the job done.

At 5 inches in diameter, this size fits a common sanding format used in many finishing and surface-prep setups. The roll format is also practical. Instead of dealing with loose discs sliding around the bench, the discs stay organized and easier to grab during repetitive work. For a shop that goes through fine grit abrasives regularly, that is a simple but real convenience.

This Mirka abrasive is best suited for painters, body shop users, finish carpenters, woodworkers, and serious DIYers who already know where a P400 disc fits in the sanding sequence. If you are doing final surface prep, refining between coats, or polishing-related sanding steps, this grit makes sense. If you need heavy removal, skip this and move coarser. If you need a clean finishing step with a trusted abrasive brand, this is the right lane.

Pro Tip

Use a clean, flat backup pad before stepping into P400. Fine discs do their best work when the surface is already close, and keeping dust off the pad helps the PSA backing sit flat and sand more evenly.
