Key Features

Pneumatic-Level Strike The POWERSTATE brushless motor delivers 7 joules of impact energy, giving this cordless hammer chisel the kind of force usually tied to a long-barrel air tool. That means suspension teardown and ball joint removal without dragging a hose or compressor into the job. Controlled Starts A variable speed trigger and 3-mode selection let you feather the strike instead of going full blast right away. That helps you stay on target around hubs, suspension parts, and other components you do not want to slip across. Fast Bit Changes The 0.401 inch round shank twist chuck makes accessory changes quicker and easier while keeping the bit locked in place under hard use. Less downtime at the bench, more time actually breaking parts loose.

Overview

The Milwaukee M18 FUEL STRIKER Hammer Chisel, Model 3771-20, is built for technicians who need serious striking power without being tied to an air line. This is a hammer chisel designed for suspension teardown, ball joint removal, and other heavy automotive service work where mobility matters. If you already work on the M18 platform, this tool gives you a cordless way to handle jobs that normally call for a long-barrel pneumatic setup.

What makes this tool matter is the combination of cordless freedom and real output. Milwaukee rates it at 7 joules of striking force, which is aimed squarely at pneumatic-equivalent performance. Pair that with up to 3,000 blows per minute and you get a tool that is built to move stuck components, not just tap on them. For a service tech, that means less setup, less hose management, and fewer excuses to drag out the compressor for one stubborn part.

Control is a big part of why this tool stands out. The variable speed trigger lets you feather the strike from start to finish, and the 3-mode selection gives you options depending on how aggressive you need to be. Mode 1 runs up to 2,500 blows per minute, Mode 2 runs up to 3,000 blows per minute, and Mode 3 adds a ramp-up setting for smoother engagement. In plain terms, that helps you start a chisel where you want it instead of bouncing off the workpiece and risking damage to nearby components.

The front end uses a 0.401 inch round shank twist chuck with automatic locking. That matters because this is a common air hammer accessory size, so you are not locked into some oddball bit system. Fast insertion and removal also helps when you are switching between chisels during teardown work. If a tool like this slows bit swaps down, it gets old fast. Milwaukee clearly understood that part of the job.

On the electronics side, REDLINK PLUS intelligence manages communication between the tool, battery, and charger to help protect against overload, overheating, and over-discharge. The patented battery isolation system is another practical detail. It helps reduce vibration transferred to the battery pack while maintaining a secure connection during repeated heavy striking. That is not just spec-sheet talk. On tools that live in harsh service environments, battery connection and durability are a real issue.

Milwaukee also added a targeted LED work light, which is more useful here than it sounds on paper. Automotive work does not always happen under ideal lighting, and when you are working around a wheel well, suspension components, or underbody hardware, seeing exactly where the bit is landing helps with accuracy and confidence. The pistol grip layout keeps the tool familiar in hand for techs used to impact tools and air hammers.

System compatibility is another strong point. This cordless hammer chisel works with all Milwaukee M18 REDLITHIUM batteries and chargers, so it drops right into an existing M18 setup. For a shop or mobile service truck already running Milwaukee cordless tools, that is a big advantage. You can add heavy-duty striking capability without adding another battery platform to manage.

This is not a general-purpose homeowner tool, and that is exactly why it is good. It is best suited to automotive technicians, diesel techs, fleet maintenance crews, and serious users who regularly deal with seized suspension parts, bushings, and stubborn assemblies. If your work is light and occasional, this may be more tool than you need. If teardown work is part of your week, the Milwaukee M18 FUEL STRIKER Hammer Chisel is built for exactly that kind of abuse.

Because it runs on the same battery platform as the rest of the Milwaukee M18 lineup, adding this hammer chisel to a shop that already runs M18 packs and chargers costs nothing in extra gear.

Cut the Hose Out of Suspension Work

This is where the tool earns its keep. The whole point of this cordless impact tool is to give service techs air-hammer type performance without a compressor, hose, or fixed bay setup getting in the way.

• Built for suspension teardown and ball joint removal
• 7 joules of striking force aimed at long-barrel pneumatic performance
• Up to 3,000 blows per minute for hard, repetitive striking

Milwaukee M18 FUEL STRIKER Hammer Chisel Control That Matters

Big striking power is only useful if you can place it where you need it. Milwaukee paired the output with a variable speed trigger and three operating modes so you can start carefully, then lean into the hit once the bit is planted.

• Mode 1: 0 to 2,500 BPM
• Mode 2: 0 to 3,000 BPM
• Mode 3: ramp-up 0 to 3,000 BPM for smoother starts
