REDLINK ProtectionMilwaukee's REDLINK Intelligence manages communication between tool, battery, and charger to help protect against overload and keep performance more consistent under heavy use. M12 Battery ComboThis Milwaukee battery combo pack is built for Milwaukee M12 cordless tools, giving you one pack for longer runtime and one compact pack for lighter, tighter work.

Overview

The Milwaukee 48-11-2460 M12 REDLITHIUM XC6.0 Extended Capacity Battery and 48-11-2430 3.0Ah Compact Battery Combo Pack is a two-battery power solution for Milwaukee M12 cordless tools. This is a battery combo pack designed for powering 12V cordless drills, impact drivers, ratchets, lights, and other M12 platform tools. Model numbers 48-11-2460 and 48-11-2430 give you one extended runtime battery and one lighter compact battery in the same kit.

What matters here is flexibility. The 6.0Ah XC pack is the one you grab when runtime is the priority, especially on tools that stay in your hand for a while or draw more power. The 3.0Ah compact pack keeps the tool shorter and lighter, which is a better fit for service work, overhead tasks, and tight spots where bulk gets old fast.

Milwaukee builds both packs around REDLITHIUM battery construction and REDLINK Intelligence. In plain terms, that means the batteries are designed to communicate with the tool and charger to help manage output and reduce overload-related damage. That kind of system protection matters if you use your M12 tools hard and want the battery investment to last.

This combo pack is also built for jobsite conditions, not just bench-top use. Milwaukee calls out all-weather performance and fade-free power in extreme conditions, along with pack construction aimed at long-term durability. If your tools live in a van, gang box, or service bag, that is more useful than flashy specs that do not hold up in real work.

Platform fit is straightforward: these batteries are for Milwaukee M12 cordless tools and use a slide-on connection. Tool Nut also lists this combo as powering 70+ Milwaukee M12 cordless solutions, which makes it a smart add-on for anyone already invested in M12 and looking to cover both runtime-heavy and compact-tool setups with one purchase.

This pack makes the most sense for electricians, HVAC techs, maintenance crews, plumbers, and serious DIY users who already run M12. If you want one battery for longer stretches and one battery that keeps the tool nimble, this is a practical combo instead of buying two packs that do the same thing.

One Pack for Runtime, One for Tight Spaces

This combo covers two common needs on the M12 platform: maximum runtime and minimum bulk. Instead of forcing one battery size onto every tool, you can choose the pack that best fits the way you actually work.

• Includes one 6.0Ah extended capacity battery and one 3.0Ah compact battery
• Designed for Milwaukee 12V M12 cordless tools with a slide-on battery interface

Pro Tip

Run the 6.0Ah pack on your higher-draw M12 tools or anything you use for long stretches, then keep the 3.0Ah compact battery on drills, ratchets, and lights when tool size matters more than maximum runtime. It is a simple way to make the whole M12 platform feel more dialed in.

Tool Nut's Take

Milwaukee 48-11-2460 M12 REDLITHIUM XC6.0 Extended Capacity Battery and 48-11-2430 3.0Ah Compact Battery Combo Pack Covers the Bases

If you are already on M12, this is the kind of battery combo that actually makes sense because it gives you one pack for long runtime and one pack that keeps your tool compact.

• Who it's for: M12 users who bounce between service work, install work, and everyday tasks where some tools need longer runtime and others need to stay light.
• Why it stands out: You get two genuinely different battery sizes, plus REDLINK system protection and all-weather performance, instead of two packs that overlap too much.
• Worth knowing: This is batteries only, so make sure you already have an M12 charger and M12 tools to put them to work.
