Key Features

Complete M12 Start The Milwaukee 48-59-2424 M12 REDLITHIUM CP2.0/XC4.0 Starter Pack gives you two battery sizes and a charger in one box, so you can get an M12 bare tool working right away instead of piecing a kit together later. Compact and Extended Runtime The compact 2.0Ah battery keeps smaller tools light, while the 4.0Ah extended capacity pack gives you more runtime for longer jobs. That lets you match the battery to the tool instead of carrying extra bulk all day. Protected for Jobsite Use REDLINK PLUS intelligence helps manage performance and overload protection between the tool, battery, and charger. In plain terms, that means better protection under heavier use and better long-term pack life.

Overview

The Milwaukee 48-59-2424 M12 REDLITHIUM CP2.0/XC4.0 Starter Pack is a battery and charger starter kit built for Milwaukee M12 cordless tools. This is a battery and charger set designed for powering M12 cordless power tools and getting a bare tool into service fast. Model Number: 48-59-2424. If you already own an M12 bare tool or want a flexible way to build your own kit, this pack gives you a charger, one compact 2.0Ah battery, and one extended-capacity 4.0Ah battery in a setup that covers both lighter tasks and longer runtime work.

What makes this kit useful on the job is the mix of battery sizes. The CP2.0 pack is the one you grab when you want to keep a drill, inspection tool, ratchet, or other compact M12 tool as light and manageable as possible. The XC4.0 pack is the better pick when runtime matters more, especially on tools that stay in your hand longer or draw more power. Instead of buying two of the same battery and working around their limits, you get a more practical combination that fits how M12 tools are actually used.

Milwaukee builds these REDLITHIUM batteries around durability, runtime, and system communication. The pack uses REDLINK PLUS intelligence to help optimize performance and provide overload protection through communication between the tool, battery, and charger. That matters because battery performance is not just about amp hours. It is also about how well the pack handles heavier use, temperature swings, and repeated charge cycles without dropping off too quickly.

For day-to-day convenience, this starter pack also includes features that save time in small ways that add up. The onboard fuel gauge lets you check remaining charge instead of guessing. The charger uses recharge-status light indicators and an easy-load design, so it is simple to drop a pack in, check progress, and keep moving. Milwaukee also notes resistance to drainage when the battery is not in use, which is a real plus if the tool sits between calls or gets rotated between tasks.

As part of the M12 system, this starter kit works across a large platform of Milwaukee 12-volt cordless tools. That compatibility is the real value here. You are not buying a one-off battery setup. You are buying into a platform that covers compact drills, impact drivers, ratchets, inspection tools, specialty trade tools, and more. For users who want one charger and a couple of solid battery options that can move from tool to tool, this is the kind of starter pack that makes the whole platform easier to live with.

Milwaukee also calls out all-weather performance and fade-free power in extreme jobsite conditions. That matters for techs, contractors, and service crews who work in unheated spaces, outdoors, or out of a van through changing seasons. The batteries are built to run cooler and perform in tough conditions, which helps when the job does not wait for ideal temperatures.

Who should buy this? Anyone building out an M12 setup the smart way. It makes sense for electricians, HVAC techs, plumbers, automotive users, maintenance crews, punch-list work, and serious DIY users who value compact cordless tools. It is especially strong for buyers picking up an M12 bare tool and needing a charger plus a good small-battery and long-run-time-battery combo without overcomplicating the purchase.
