Key Features

High Air VolumeWith 1,941 CFM and a 2-stage cyclone layout, this dust collector is built to move serious air and pull heavier chips out before they reach the filter. That means better collection at the machine and less filter loading over time. Cleaner Fine Dust ControlThe 1 micron canister filter is there for the dust you do not want hanging in the shop air. Manual paddle cleaning helps keep the filter working without turning maintenance into a project. Easier Drum HandlingAir-strut assistance, a quick-release drum lid, and a magnetic quick-connect hose make bag changes and cleanout less of a fight. That saves time when the collector is full and you need to get back to work.

Overview

The Laguna D|Flux: III Cyclone Dust Collector is a stationary cyclone dust collector for woodshops that need strong airflow, better fine dust control, and cleaner drum separation than a basic single-stage setup. This is a cyclone dust collector designed for woodworking dust collection and shop air management. Model Number: MDCDF32201. If you are running machines that make real volume like table saws, jointers, planers, and sanders, this unit is built to keep up better than smaller hobby-level collectors.

On the numbers, Laguna rates this unit at 3 HP on 220V with 1,941 CFM. That matters because airflow is what decides whether chips and fine dust actually make it through the hose and into the collector instead of piling up in ports, hoods, and duct runs. The high-efficiency 2-stage cyclone separator is there to knock heavier debris out before it reaches the filter, which helps maintain performance and reduces how quickly the filter loads up.

For fine dust, the Laguna D|Flux: III Cyclone Dust Collector uses a 1 micron canister filter with a manual paddle cleaning system. In plain terms, that means it is set up to catch the smaller airborne stuff that creates the bigger cleanup and air-quality problem in a shop. The manual paddle cleaning system also makes more sense in real use than a design that is hard to service, because any dust collector only works well if you actually stay on top of maintenance.

Laguna also did a good job on the practical side. The 45-gallon steel drum gives this machine enough collection capacity for longer stretches between emptying, and the negative pressure bag retention system is built to help keep the bag in place during collection. The magnetic quick-connect hose is another jobsite-friendly touch because it speeds up setup and cleanout instead of turning a simple bag change into a wrestling match.

The frame and collection setup are clearly aimed at shop use, not just spec-sheet appeal. A quick-release drum lid with air-strut assistance helps when it is time to open the system, and the steel drum rides on four locking casters for mobility around the shop. The computer-balanced non-sparking aluminum impeller is important too. A balanced impeller helps the machine run smoother, and the aluminum construction is a smart fit for this type of dust collection system.

From an electrical and protection standpoint, Laguna includes a magnetic starter with thermal overload protection. That is the kind of feature you want on a larger stationary machine because it adds a level of protection during heavier use. Laguna also lists a wireless radio-frequency keyfob remote, which is genuinely useful in a shop layout where the collector is not right next to the machine you are using. Being able to start or stop the collector without walking back across the room is one of those small conveniences that makes a system easier to live with every day.

For hose and machine connection, the unit uses a 6 inch inlet with two 4 inch splitter ports. That gives woodworkers flexibility when tying the collector into common woodworking dust ports and branch lines. If your shop runs around standard 4 inch hookups but you still want the benefit of a larger main inlet at the collector, that setup makes sense.

Who should buy it? The Laguna D|Flux: III Cyclone Dust Collector makes the most sense for serious hobbyists, dedicated home shops, and small professional woodworking shops that want stronger chip separation, better fine dust filtration, and more user-friendly maintenance than entry-level collectors typically offer. If you are only collecting from one very small machine once in a while, this is probably more collector than you need. If your shop regularly makes piles of chips and lingering airborne dust, this is the kind of upgrade you will notice fast.

Laguna D|Flux: III Cyclone Dust Collector Airflow and Separation

This collector is built around the stuff that actually matters in a working shop: airflow, separation, and filter protection. The cyclone layout helps pull heavier debris out before it packs the filter, so the system stays more efficient over longer runs.

• 3 HP motor running on 220V
• 1,941 CFM rated airflow for serious chip and dust collection
• High-efficiency 2-stage cyclone separator

Built to Make Filter Maintenance Less Painful

A dust collector only helps if it stays easy to maintain. The large canister filter and manual paddle cleaning system are there to keep cleanup and service straightforward instead of turning it into a teardown every time the system loads up.

• 1 micron canister filter for fine dust capture
• Manual paddle cleaning system for easier upkeep
• 79 decibel rating helps keep shop noise more manageable

Faster Emptying, Better Shop Workflow

Laguna paid attention to the part most people forget until the drum is full. The assisted lid and quick-release design make cleanout more controlled, which matters when you are dealing with a large-capacity collection drum packed with chips and fine dust.

• Quick-release drum lid with air-strut assistance
• 45-gallon steel drum for longer intervals between emptying
• Wireless keyfob remote adds convenience in larger shop layouts
