Overview

The Kreg 20V Cordless Ionic Drive Reciprocating Saw, Tool Only (KPTRC100B) is a cordless reciprocating saw for rough cutting and demolition-style work. This is a reciprocating saw designed for general-purpose cutting where fast, portable access matters more than a perfectly finished edge. Model Number KPTRC100B. If you need a saw for quick cuts in remodel work, construction tasks, or jobsite tear-out, this format makes sense.

What stands out right away is the combination of a cordless layout and a 20V power source. In real use, that means you can move around framing, piping, scrap material, or hard-to-reach areas without managing a cord. For contractors and serious DIY users, that usually translates to less setup time and fewer interruptions when the job only needs a few fast cuts.

Kreg also identifies this model as an Ionic Drive reciprocating saw. That matters because it separates this tool within the Kreg cordless lineup and gives buyers a clear product family to shop around. If you are comparing Kreg cutting tools, the Ionic Drive naming helps you zero in on the exact reciprocating saw model rather than guessing between similar cordless options.

This version is sold as tool only. That is important if you already own compatible Kreg cordless power equipment and want to add a reciprocating saw without buying another battery and charger. Bare tool packages are usually the smarter buy for users expanding an existing setup, especially when the goal is adding capability instead of starting from scratch.

As a tool category, a reciprocating saw is usually chosen for utility cuts, demo work, and fast material removal where speed and access matter more than fine finish quality. That makes this Kreg saw a logical option for remodelers, plumbers, electricians, maintenance crews, and homeowners who want a cordless demolition saw for occasional to regular cutting tasks.

If you are the kind of user who needs portability, straightforward setup, and the flexibility of a cordless cutting tool, this model checks the right boxes. The biggest buying point here is simple: it is a Kreg 20V cordless reciprocating saw in a bare tool format, aimed at users who want mobility and already have, or plan to choose, the matching battery system.
