Key Features

Less Vibration, More ControlThe counter balance mechanism helps calm the saw down during aggressive cuts, so you get better control and less arm fatigue when you're working overhead or cutting for long stretches. Built for Jobsite AbuseAll-metal gearing and a metal gear case are there for one reason: this Milwaukee reciprocating saw is built to hold up when the work gets dirty, rough, and repetitive. Fast Blade ChangesThe lever-action QUIK-LOK blade clamp makes blade swaps quick and easy, which matters when you're jumping between wood cutting and metal cutting on the same job.

Overview

The Milwaukee M18 SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw, Model 2621-20, is a cordless demolition and cutting tool built for tradespeople and serious users who need a proven reciprocating saw on the M18 platform. This is a reciprocating saw designed for demolition, remodel work, metal cutting, and rough-in cutting. If you want the classic SAWZALL feel in an 18V cordless format, this is the tool you reach for when cords are a hassle but you still need real cutting speed.

On the job, the numbers tell a useful story. With a 1-1/8 inch stroke length and 0 to 3,000 strokes per minute, this saw is set up to move material quickly. That longer stroke helps the blade cover more material with each pass, which is what you want when you're tearing through framing lumber, nail-embedded wood, or pipe. Milwaukee also calls out up to 30 percent faster cutting in key applications, and the inline action helps the saw start cleaner in metal.

What makes this model stand out is that Milwaukee did not build it like a light-duty homeowner tool. The all-metal gearing and gear case are there for durability, plain and simple. If you're using a reciprocating saw in demolition, service work, or punch-list jobs, it gets knocked around, set down on concrete, and asked to cut materials that are never as clean as they should be. The tougher drivetrain matters because it helps the tool keep working when lesser saws start feeling loose or worn out.

The counter balance mechanism is one of the features that matters more in real use than it does on a spec sheet. Less vibration means better control, less fatigue, and a smoother feel when you're working from awkward positions. That is especially useful when you're cutting overhead, reaching into wall cavities, or trying to keep the blade on line in metal. Milwaukee also gave this saw a slim front-end design and enhanced grip to improve comfort and control, which makes it easier to handle in tighter spaces than bulky saws with oversized front housings.

Blade changes are handled by the lever-action QUIK-LOK universal blade clamp. That's a practical feature, not a gimmick. A reciprocating saw is only as useful as how quickly you can adapt it to the next cut, and being able to change blades fast without stopping to fight the clamp saves time. The saw also uses REDLINK Intelligence, which adds overload protection to help defend the tool against abusive conditions and support longer service life.

As part of the Milwaukee M18 battery system, the 2621-20 works with M18 REDLITHIUM batteries, so it makes sense for users already invested in the platform. This version is a bare tool, which is good if you already own M18 batteries and chargers and just need the saw. It is not the right buy if you need a complete starter kit right out of the box. Bare-tool buyers save money, but you need to have the battery side covered.

This saw fits a wide range of trades. Remodelers, plumbers, HVAC techs, electricians, demolition crews, and general contractors all have a use for a cordless reciprocating saw that can move from wood to metal without drama. It is also a solid choice for serious DIY users who already own M18 batteries and want a dependable demolition saw for renovation work, pruning rough material, or cutting out old framing and pipe. If your work involves tear-out, rough cutting, or service access, this is the kind of tool that earns its spot fast.

Milwaukee M18 SAWZALL Reciprocating Saw in Real Demolition Work

This is where a cordless reciprocating saw earns its keep. The 2621-20 is made for tear-out, cut-back work, and fast access cuts when dragging a cord around the room just slows you down.

• Up to 0 to 3,000 strokes per minute for fast cutting in key applications
• 1-1/8 inch stroke length helps remove material quickly in framing and demolition cuts

Better Control in Tight and Overhead Cuts

Overhead and in-place cutting is where vibration and balance show up fast. Milwaukee's counter balance mechanism and slim front design help the saw stay more manageable when you're working between joists or around installed pipe.

• Counter balance mechanism reduces vibration for more control and less fatigue
• Enhanced grip and slim front-end design improve comfort in awkward positions

Durability That Makes Sense on the Job

A reciprocating saw gets judged by how it holds up after months of hard cuts, not how it looks on day one. The 2621-20 uses all-metal gearing and a metal gear case to back up the tool where it counts.

• All-metal gearing and gear case provide maximum durability
• REDLINK overload protection helps protect the tool in abusive situations
