Overview

The Kreg 20V Cordless Ionic Drive 7-1/4-in. Circular Saw is a cordless circular saw built for buyers who want a full-size blade in a portable, battery-powered format. This is a circular saw designed for general cutting where cord-free mobility matters. Model Number KPTCS725B. If you already run Kreg cordless tools or you are specifically looking for a 7-1/4 inch cordless circular saw from Kreg Tool, this is the core product: the saw itself in a tool-only package.

The big story here is the combination of a 20V cordless platform and a 7-1/4 inch blade size. That blade size matters because it lines up with a very common circular saw category, which makes the tool easier to fit into real-world shop and jobsite use. For a lot of users, that means easier blade selection and a more familiar saw size than smaller compact circular saws.

Kreg also calls this an Ionic Drive model, which helps distinguish it within the brand's cordless lineup. Even with limited specs, that naming tells you this is positioned as part of Kreg's battery-powered saw platform rather than a corded shop saw. The benefit is simple: faster setup, easier movement, and no hunting for power when you need to break down material or make quick cuts around the site.

The tool-only format is worth calling out because it directly affects who this saw is for. If you already own compatible batteries and charging equipment in the same system, bare tools are usually the smart buy. You get the saw you need without stacking up duplicate chargers and packs. If you are starting from zero, though, you will want to factor battery and charger needs into the purchase decision.

From a buying standpoint, this Kreg circular saw makes the most sense for users who specifically want a cordless cutting tool in the Kreg lineup and want the more standard 7-1/4 inch class instead of a smaller trim-focused saw. That can appeal to serious DIY users, remodelers, carpenters, and general contractors who want a battery-powered saw that fits familiar blade sizing and the convenience of a cordless setup.

If your priority is mobility, a common blade diameter, and a straightforward tool-only replacement or addition to your cordless kit, the Kreg 20V Cordless Ionic Drive 7-1/4-in. Circular Saw is the right kind of saw to look at. The main thing to know up front is that this listing is for the saw only, so it is best suited to users who already have the rest of the platform covered.
