Overview

The FastCap Peel and Stick SpeedTape Double Sided Adhesive Tape for Edge Banding is a double-sided adhesive tape made for woodworking, trim work, laminates, jigs, templates, and general bonding. This is a double-sided adhesive tape designed for edge banding and clean bonding in woodworking applications. Model Number: STAPE.1.5X50. If you want a faster, cleaner alternative to messy contact glue for shop and install work, this is the kind of tape that keeps the job moving.

What matters here is not just that it sticks, but how it fits the work. The 1.5 inch width gives you enough surface coverage for common trim, laminate, and panel tasks, while the 50 foot roll length makes sense for repeated use in the shop or on punch work. Because it is double-sided, you get bonding contact on both faces, which helps hold materials in place during layout, assembly, and installation.

FastCap positions this SpeedTape as a cleaner option than contact adhesive, and that is the real selling point. Instead of spreading glue, waiting, and dealing with squeeze-out, you peel the backing, place the tape, and press the material down. For cabinet edge work, template setup, or light bonding tasks where clean handling matters, that saves time and avoids extra cleanup.

The material construction is listed as acrylic with polyester film. In practical terms, that points to a tape built for stable, thin bonding rather than a soft foam mounting tape. That makes it a better fit for flat materials and precision work where you do not want extra thickness telegraphing through the finished piece.

Use-case wise, this tape is clearly aimed at woodworkers, finish carpenters, cabinet installers, and serious DIY users doing repair or improvement work indoors. Wood is also a recommended surface, and it is shown in use on trim and panel applications. If your work involves edge banding, holding templates, or bonding laminates cleanly, this is where the product makes the most sense.

It is worth being direct about what this product is not. It is not water resistant, and the listed upper temperature rating is 65 degrees Fahrenheit, so this is not the tape to reach for in wet areas, hot environments, or exterior work. It is an indoor adhesive solution for controlled conditions, especially where speed, neatness, and clean finished surfaces matter more than weather resistance.
