Clean Threaded Rod Cuts The DEWALT DCS350B 20V MAX Cordless Threaded Rod Cutter cuts threaded rod without chips, sparks, or burrs. That means you can spin nuts on faster instead of cleaning up damaged threads after every cut. One Tool, Multiple Sizes The four-sided rotating cutter head handles multiple rod sizes by turning the die to the size you need. It saves setup time and keeps you from carrying separate cutting tools for common jobsite sizes. Built for Real Jobsites A bright LED work light, forward/reverse/lock-off switch, hang hook, and onboard wrench storage make this cordless rod cutter easier to use in tight framing, overhead work, and low-light areas.

Overview

The DEWALT DCS350B 20V MAX Cordless Threaded Rod Cutter is a battery-powered threaded rod cutter built for electricians, mechanical contractors, steel stud crews, and anyone who cuts rod on active jobsites. This is a threaded rod cutter designed for fast, clean cutting of common coarse threaded rod sizes without the mess and thread damage you get from abrasive wheels or saw blades. Model Number: DCS350B.

What makes this tool matter is the way it cuts. Instead of throwing sparks or leaving burrs that slow you down, the DCS350B produces clean cuts that let you thread on fasteners more easily after the cut. DEWALT rates it to cut 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/2 inch mild steel coarse threaded rod, plus 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch stainless steel coarse threaded rod. On a rough-in or hanger install, that saves real time because you are not reaching for a grinder, chasing threads, or cleaning up metal debris off the floor.

The cutter head uses a four-sided rotating die, which is one of the smartest parts of the design. You are not swapping to a completely different tool just to move between common rod sizes. Rotate the cutting die to the correct size and keep moving. For crews that bounce between hanger rod sizes through the day, that is a practical advantage, not a brochure feature. DEWALT also offers replacement cutting dies separately, so the tool stays serviceable instead of becoming disposable when the cutting surfaces wear.

Jobsite control is another strong point here. Because the DCS350B does not rely on a fast spinning blade or wheel, it reduces the binding issues and shower of debris that can come with other cutting methods. That matters when you are trimming rod in finished spaces, overhead, or around other trades. The forward, reverse, and lock-off switch gives you straightforward control, and the LED work light helps when you are working above ceilings, inside framing bays, or in corners where light is not great.

Runtime is solid for repetitive cutting work. DEWALT states the tool can deliver up to 350 cuts in 3/8 inch threaded rod on one battery charge. Actual results will vary by material and battery used, but the point is clear: this is built to keep up with production work, not just occasional trim cuts. Since this is a bare tool, battery and charger are sold separately, which makes the most sense for users already on the DEWALT 20V MAX platform.

From a practical design standpoint, DEWALT got a lot of the small stuff right. The hang hook gives you a place to stage the tool when you are moving around ladders, lifts, or framing. Onboard cutter wrench storage helps keep the adjustment tool with the machine instead of lost in a gang box. The layout is made for real handling, with the grip and body shape supporting both bench work and in-place cuts on installed rod.

The system fit is simple. The DCS350B runs on DEWALT 20V MAX batteries and uses replacement cutting die accessories sold separately. If you already own DEWALT cordless tools, this slips right into that setup without adding another battery platform to manage. For contractors standardizing on one cordless system, that matters just as much as the cutting performance.

If you regularly cut threaded rod for trapeze hangers, strut assemblies, conduit supports, cable tray, or overhead mechanical installs, this tool makes a strong case for itself. It is especially well suited for pro users who want cleaner results, less cleanup, and better control than a grinder or saw can give them. If you only cut rod once in a while, a manual method may get by. If you cut rod every week, the DEWALT DCS350B 20V MAX Cordless Threaded Rod Cutter is the kind of specialty tool that quickly earns its place.

Make Fast Cuts Without Cleaning Threads

This cutter is built for crews that need repeated rod cuts without stopping to fix damaged threads. The big win is simple: cut, install hardware, and keep moving.

• Cuts 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/2 inch mild steel coarse threaded rod
• Cuts 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch stainless steel coarse threaded rod
• Burr-free cutting helps fasteners thread on more easily after the cut

Work Safer in Tight or Finished Areas

When you are cutting near other trades, overhead, or inside a finished space, chips and sparks are more than a nuisance. This tool avoids both, which helps keep the work area cleaner and easier to manage.

• Does not create chips or sparks while cutting
• Eliminates fast moving cutting blades or wheels that can bind
• LED light helps when layout and cuts happen in low light

Handle Common Rod Sizes With Less Downtime

The rotating die setup keeps this tool productive when the rod size changes during the day. That is a real advantage for electrical and mechanical installs where layouts shift fast and overhead cuts are common.

• Four-sided rotatable cutting die handles multiple rod sizes
• Forward/reverse/lock-off switch gives clear operating control
• Hang hook helps stage the tool between cuts on ladders or lifts

Stay Productive Through Repetitive Cutting

If your day includes a pile of hanger rod cuts, runtime matters. DEWALT rates this tool for up to 350 cuts in 3/8 inch threaded rod on one battery charge, which is the kind of number production crews actually care about.

• Up to 350 cuts in 3/8 inch threaded rod per charge
• Cordless design keeps you mobile around framing and layout areas
• Bare tool format is a good fit if you already run DEWALT 20V MAX batteries
