Overview

The DeWalt DCBP520C 20V MAX POWERSTACK 5.0Ah Starter Kit (PROMO) is a battery starter kit built around a 20V MAX POWERSTACK 5.0Ah lithium-ion battery and charger. This is a battery starter kit designed for powering and charging DeWALT 20V MAX cordless tools. Model Number: DCBP520C. If you already run DeWALT cordless tools, this kit matters because it gives you a higher-performance 5.0Ah battery plus a charger in one box instead of piecing the system together one part at a time.

The big story here is the 5.0Ah POWERSTACK battery. This battery is engineered with pouch cell technology and is designed to deliver 50% more power along with a longer lifespan than standard alternatives in the same class. On the job, that means better support for tougher cuts, faster driving, and heavier-duty drilling applications where weaker packs tend to sag under load. It is also built in a more compact form, which helps when you are using a drill, impact driver, grinder, or saw in tighter areas where a bulky battery gets in the way.

DeWALT also built in the practical stuff that makes a battery better to live with day after day. The rubber over-molded base helps the pack stand up to the normal bumps and drops that happen in a truck, on a bench, or across a floor. The 3 LED state-of-charge indicator gives you a quick read on battery status before you climb a ladder, crawl under a sink, or head to the other end of a site. That sounds small until you realize how much wasted time comes from swapping packs blindly.

As a starter kit, the charger matters too. This package includes a DeWALT DCB1104 standard charger with 120V AC input, so you are not just buying a loose battery with nowhere to charge it. For someone adding to an existing DeWALT cordless setup, this gives you another charging station for the shop, trailer, or garage. For someone buying their first DeWALT 20V MAX battery and charger set, it is a straightforward entry point into the platform.

Compatibility is one of the strongest reasons to buy this kit. It is made for use with DeWALT 20V MAX tools and chargers. That makes the DeWalt DCBP520C 20V MAX POWERSTACK 5.0Ah Starter Kit (PROMO) a platform buy, not a one-tool purchase. If your cordless lineup already includes DeWALT 20V MAX drills, impact drivers, reciprocating saws, circular saws, lights, or outdoor power equipment that uses the same battery system, this kit drops right into that workflow.

Physically, the kit stays compact enough to be easy to store and carry. The listed overall battery dimensions are 5-1/4 inches long, 3-1/4 inches wide, and 2-1/4 inches high, with a listed weight of 1.5 pounds. That matters because a 5.0Ah pack needs to offer a useful balance between runtime, power, and handling. A battery that is too large can make compact tools feel nose-heavy. A battery that is too small can leave performance on the table. This pack is aimed squarely at users who want more out of their 20V MAX tools without stepping outside the platform.

This kit makes the most sense for contractors, remodelers, electricians, plumbers, maintenance crews, and serious DIY users who are already invested in DeWALT cordless tools or planning to be. It is especially useful if you want one battery that can cover everyday work while still being ready for harder applications. If you only need a bare replacement charger or a bargain spare battery, there may be simpler options. If you want a solid DeWALT battery and charger combo with current POWERSTACK technology, this is the smarter buy.
