Key Features

Dual-Scale Readability The one-sided inch and millimeter blade gives you both measurement systems on one tape, which helps when you're laying out mixed plans, trim, or site measurements without stopping to convert. Built for Daily Carry The compact ABS case with a shock-absorbing soft grip is easier to hold all day and better able to take a drop on the job than a slick hard shell. Fast Blade Control A strong brake and automatic blade retraction let you pull, hold, and retract the tape quickly, which matters when you're measuring repeatedly through the day.

Overview

The Stabila 30826 BM 100 26 ft./8m Tape Measure is a compact pocket tape built for everyday measuring, layout, and marking on the jobsite. This is a tape measure designed for daily length measurement and general layout work. Model Number: 30826. If you need a tape that stays easy to carry, easy to read, and tough enough for regular site use, this one is aimed right at that kind of work.

What matters most here is the combination of reach, readability, and control. The 26 ft. / 8 m blade gives you enough length for common framing, finish, remodeling, and punch-list measurements, while the inch and millimeter scale helps when you are bouncing between imperial and metric dimensions. STABILA also rates it as EC Class II, which gives you a clear idea of the tape's measuring accuracy for routine trade work.

The BM 100 is built around a compact housing that is meant to live in your hand or pocket all day without feeling bulky. STABILA calls out the comfortable grip for a reason. On a tape measure, comfort is not just a nice extra. If you are pulling tape over and over, a shape that sits well in the hand and a soft grip that keeps it from slipping both make a difference by the end of the day.

The case uses ABS construction with a shock-absorbent soft grip cover. In plain terms, that means better impact protection when the tape gets dropped, knocked off a bench, or tossed in a tool bag. That is the kind of feature that actually matters on a tape measure, because these tools spend their lives getting banged around. STABILA also specifies a robust blade coating for longer service life, which helps the scale stay readable through repeated extension and retraction.

Control is another strong point. The BM 100 uses a strong brake and an automatic, powerful blade retraction mechanism. That setup makes it easier to stop the blade where you need it, transfer a mark, and bring it back in without fighting the spring. For anyone doing repeated measuring throughout the day, that saves time and makes the tool feel more predictable in use.

This STABILA pocket tape is best suited for contractors, remodelers, carpenters, installers, maintenance techs, and serious DIY users who want a straightforward tape measure from a brand known for layout tools. It is especially useful when you want a compact tape measure with dual inch and metric markings, solid jobsite durability, and a form factor that is easy to keep on you instead of leaving behind in the truck.

Pro Tip

Use the brake to hold your measurement just long enough to transfer your mark before letting the blade retract. On a compact tape like the BM 100, that gives you better control and helps keep the coated blade from getting slammed back harder than it needs to.
