Key Features

Stops in Under 5 Milliseconds SawStop's patented safety system senses skin contact, stops the blade in less than 5 milliseconds, and drops it below the table, helping prevent a life-altering injury. 52" Rip Capacity The 52" Professional T-Glide fence and rails rip to 52" right of the blade, so full sheets of plywood and MDF break down on the saw instead of on sawhorses. 3 HP Cabinet Saw Power A 3 HP, 230V single-phase motor gives this cabinet table saw the reserve to rip thick hardwood at a steady feed rate without bogging down.

Overview

The SawStop PCS31230-TGP252 220V Single Phase 3-HP 13-Amp 10" Professional Cabinet Saw with 52" Professional Series T-Glide Fence System is SawStop's best-selling cabinet saw, packaged with the long-rail fence that full-sheet work demands. This is a cabinet table saw designed for precision ripping, crosscutting, and dado work in cabinet shops, furniture shops, school shops, and serious home workshops. Model Number PCS31230-TGP252 pairs the PCS31230 3 HP Professional Cabinet Saw with the TGP2-FA fence assembly, 52" rails, and 52" extension table.

The reason most people buy a SawStop is the safety system, and it is the real thing. The blade carries a small electrical signal. Skin is conductive, so when a finger touches the blade, the signal changes and the saw fires an aluminum brake into the spinning blade. The blade stops in less than 5 milliseconds, and its angular momentum drives it down below the table while motor power shuts off. Getting back to work means replacing the blade and the brake cartridge, a reset SawStop says takes less than 5 minutes. A control box with an on-board computer constantly checks that the system is working before and while you cut.

Safety would not matter much if the saw couldn't cut, and the Professional Cabinet Saw is built to cut well. The 3 HP, 230V single-phase motor draws 13 amps and turns a standard 10" blade on a 5/8" arbor. Maximum depth of cut is 3-1/8" at 0 degrees and 2-1/4" at 45 degrees, which covers 3x stock in one pass. The blade tilts left, and the saw accepts an 8" dado set up to 29/32" wide when fitted with a dado brake cartridge and dado insert.

Precision starts underneath the table. The trunnion and arbor assembly is built for strength and stability, arbor runout is held to 0.001" maximum, and the cast iron table is held to a 0.010" maximum gap measured diagonally. Gas piston assisted elevation makes raising and lowering the blade smooth and easy, so small height adjustments for joinery are quick instead of a wrestling match.

The SawStop TGP2-FA Professional T-Glide fence is half the value of this package. The fence and rails are made of heavy-gauge steel for a sure lockdown and reliably square cuts without deflection, year after year. With the 52" rails and extension table, you get 52" of rip capacity to the right of the blade and an overall footprint of 85-1/4" wide by 33" deep by 34" high. Plan your shop layout around that width before the crate shows up.

Dust control is handled at two levels. Below the table, advanced shrouding around the blade directs dust to the 4" port on the cabinet. Above the table, the 3 HP model includes SawStop's dust collection blade guard. Add the optional overarm dust collection and SawStop rates combined collection at 99%, which means a clearer cut line and far less fine dust settling on every surface in the shop.

Who should buy it? Cabinetmakers, furniture builders, school and community shops, and serious woodworkers who rip a lot of sheet goods and want a cabinet saw they will not outgrow. If your shop runs on 230V and has the floor space for an 85" wide footprint, the PCS31230-TGP252 is the configuration to buy. If space is tight, the 36" fence version gives up rip capacity to save room. The rest of the SawStop line covers smaller jobsite and compact saws with the same safety technology.

Full Sheets, Square Cuts

The 52" T-Glide rails turn the saw into a full sheet-goods station. The heavy-gauge steel fence locks down square and stays there, so the second rip matches the first.

• 52" rip capacity to the right of the blade
• Heavy-gauge steel fence and rails

Guard and Riving Knife in Place

The included dust collection blade guard covers the blade and pulls dust from above the table, while the riving knife keeps the kerf open to reduce the risk of kickback.

• Dust collection blade guard included on 3 HP models
• Riving knife included

Smooth, Precise Height Changes

Gas piston assisted elevation takes the effort out of raising the blade, and the precision trunnion holds the setting once you lock it. That makes dialing in a dado depth or a tenon shoulder a quick job.

• Gas piston assisted blade elevation
• Arbor runout held to 0.001" maximum

Dust Control Above and Below

Shrouding around the blade feeds the 4" cabinet port. For the cleanest setup, the optional SawStop TSA-ODC overarm dust collection routes dust from the guard to the port, and SawStop rates the combined system at 99% collection.

• 4" dust port
• Advanced blade shrouding below the table
