Key Features

Bluetooth Jobsite Audio The Makita XRM08B cordless job site speaker pairs wirelessly with your phone or tablet, so you can keep music, podcasts, or work audio playing without dragging cords across the floor. Built for Rough Sites IP65-rated water and dust resistance plus protective bumpers help this speaker hold up better in dirty, damp, and busy work areas where a regular speaker would not last. Two Battery Platforms It runs on Makita 12V max CXT and 18V LXT batteries, which is a real advantage if you already use Makita cordless tools and want one speaker that works across both systems.

Overview

The Makita XRM08B 18V LXT / 12V max CXT Cordless Bluetooth Job Site Speaker is a compact cordless speaker built for tradespeople who want reliable audio on the job without babying the tool. This is a job site speaker designed for wireless music playback and mobile device audio in work environments. Model Number: XRM08B. If you already run Makita cordless tools, this speaker makes sense because it plugs into the battery platforms many crews already carry every day.

What matters here is not just that it plays music. The XRM08B gives you Bluetooth connectivity for wireless playback, plus auxiliary and USB play modes when you want more than one connection option. That flexibility matters on real jobsites where one person may be streaming from a phone, another may want a wired connection, and charging access can still be useful. Makita also includes a control panel that lets you operate connected mobile devices right from the speaker, which is a lot more practical than pulling your phone out with dusty gloves on.

Makita kept the size tight at roughly 8-1/4 inches long, 8 inches wide, and 7-7/8 inches high, so it is easy to set on a bench, shelf, cart, or subfloor without eating up space. The built-in handle makes it simple to grab and move from room to room, and the protective bumpers are there for a reason. This is the kind of speaker that is meant to ride along with the rest of your gear, not stay parked in a spotless office.

Sound setup is jobsite-focused too. The built-in woofer handles lower tones while the tweeter covers the high end, giving the speaker a fuller sound than the tiny tinny units a lot of guys settle for. It is still a compact speaker, but Makita clearly built it to sound better than a throwaway portable radio while keeping it rugged enough for construction, remodeling, service calls, and garage work.

On runtime, the XRM08B is set up to go the distance. It runs up to 32 hours of continuous operation in auxiliary mode and up to 31 hours with Bluetooth enabled when using a Makita BL1850B battery. That means it can realistically cover long workdays without constant battery swaps. There is also USB charging output rated at 2.1 amps, which adds some extra usefulness when your phone is running low and you still need it for plans, calls, or measurements.

One of the biggest reasons to buy this speaker over a random consumer portable speaker is durability. The IP65 rating means it is engineered for water and dust resistance in harsh jobsite conditions. Add the protective bumpers and cordless operation, and you get a speaker that is much better suited for sawdust, concrete dust, damp mornings, and general jobsite abuse than something meant for the kitchen counter.

Compatibility is another strong point. The Makita XRM08B 18V LXT / 12V max CXT Cordless Bluetooth Job Site Speaker works with all Makita 12V max CXT and 18V LXT batteries, which makes it a smart add-on if your truck or shop already has either system. It is sold as a bare tool, so batteries are not included, but Makita does include an AC adapter. That gives you the option to save battery power when you are working near an outlet.

This speaker is a good fit for contractors, remodelers, electricians, HVAC techs, plumbers, punch-list crews, and serious DIY users who want a compact Bluetooth speaker that is actually built for the way tools get used. If you need jobsite audio, weather resistance, cordless flexibility, and Makita battery compatibility in one compact unit, this one checks the right boxes without overcomplicating it.

Compact Audio That Moves With You

This speaker is small enough to carry around the job without becoming one more bulky thing to manage, but it still brings the features you actually use day to day.

• Compact footprint at 8-1/4 in. long, 8 in. wide, and 7-7/8 in. high
• Built-in handle makes it easy to move between rooms, floors, and service calls
• Cordless design keeps the setup clean where extension cords are already everywhere

• Protective bumpers help guard the housing when it gets moved around the site
• Good choice for indoor remodeling, shop work, garages, and covered outdoor work areas

• Bluetooth, auxiliary, and USB play modes give you multiple audio options
• USB charging output rated at 2.1A helps keep a phone powered during the workday
