Key Features

Switch Fast Move from router table work to extended-base hand-held routing without tools, knobs, or clips. That saves setup time when the job calls for both table control and freehand flexibility. Rigid Table Build The top is built from 1 inch thick, 17-ply Baltic birch plywood with a black micro-dot laminate surface. That gives the router table system a stable work surface that holds up better than lighter portable setups. Fence Control The included precision fence has adjustable faces, built-in dust collection, and zero-backlash micro-adjustment. That matters when you need clean, repeatable cuts instead of sneaking up on the setting by trial and error.

Overview

The Woodpeckers SMRT StabilMaxRT Router Table System is a portable benchtop router table system for woodworkers who want table routing precision without giving up hand-held router versatility. This is a router table system designed for tabletop and hand-held routing with compatible trim routers and mid-sized fixed-base routers. Model number SMRT-P. If you work in a small shop, move tools around often, or need a compact setup that still feels solid under load, this system is aimed right at you.

The big selling point here is the snap-in, snap-out workflow. Instead of treating your router table and hand-held router as two separate setups, this system lets you switch between them quickly and without tools, knobs, or clips. That means less downtime when you need to go from edge profiling on the table to freehand routing on a workpiece that is too large or awkward to bring to the table.

Woodpeckers built the table from 1 inch thick, 17-ply Baltic birch plywood and finished the top with a black micro-dot laminate. In plain terms, that gives you a stiff platform and a slick work surface that is better suited to accurate feed control than a flimsy plastic or thin-panel benchtop table. Foldable legs and built-in track clamp features also make the setup practical when bench space is limited or when you want to stow it after the job is done.

The fence is not an afterthought. It includes built-in dust collection, adjustable fence faces, a starting pin, and a zero-backlash micro-adjuster for fine position changes. That matters when you are dialing in edge details, light profile cuts, or repeat passes where a small fence movement makes a visible difference in the finished piece. The wall-mountable Rack-It adds another jobsite-friendly touch by keeping the system stored and ready instead of buried on a shelf.

Compatibility is broad for the class. The system is designed to work with most corded and cordless palm routers as well as 1-1/2 horsepower to 2-1/2 horsepower fixed-base routers that use a symmetrical 3-hole baseplate pattern, including a 4 inch 3-hole bolt pattern. It is also stated to support larger routers with 1/2 inch collets, which opens the door to more serious bit choices than trim-router-only tables can usually handle.

Who should buy it? Woodworkers, trim carpenters, cabinet makers, and serious DIY users who want one router setup to cover both bench work and guided hand-held work. If you already own a compatible router and want a compact router table that does more than basic edge work, this system makes a lot of sense. If you need a dedicated floor-standing table for constant production use, this is probably not your lane. This one is about portability, flexibility, and precision in a smaller footprint.

Go From Bench Work to Hand-Held Routing Fast

The whole point of this system is workflow. You can keep a compatible router mounted to the base and move between table routing and hand-held use without dragging out tools or reworking the setup every time.

• Designed to switch instantly between router table mode and extended-base hand-held routing
• Works with most corded and cordless palm routers plus 1-1/2 horsepower to 2-1/2 horsepower fixed-base routers

Built Like a Real Work Surface

A portable router table is only useful if it stays planted and feeds smoothly. The Baltic birch construction, laminate top, and bench-mount design give this setup more backbone than the average compact table.

• 1 inch thick, 17-ply Baltic birch plywood table construction
• Black micro-dot laminate top helps material move consistently across the surface

Dial In Fine Fence Adjustments

When you are sneaking up on a profile or cleaning up an edge, fence control matters more than raw size. The precision fence and zero-backlash micro-adjuster make small, repeatable changes easier to manage.

• Fence includes adjustable faces for tuning support around the bit
• Built-in micro-adjustment gives more precise positioning for finish-sensitive cuts

Manage Dust and Small-Part Routing Better

Router work gets messy fast, especially on small parts. The built-in fence dust collection helps keep chips under control, and the system is stated to work with the Woodpeckers Freehand Guard for added dust management and guarded routing support.

• Fence includes a built-in dust collection port
• Woodpeckers Freehand Guard works with the StabilMaxRT+ baseplate
