Centered Every Pass The 90 degree V-shaped sole keeps the cutter centered on the edge, so the profile grows evenly instead of wandering. That means cleaner chamfers and round-overs with less trial and error. Dial In The Cut A thumbwheel depth adjustment lets you sneak up on the final profile instead of taking too much off at once. That matters when you want repeatable results across exposed edges and visible joinery. Fast Hand Tool Finish This Woodpeckers corner plane gives you a clean 1/8 inch radius without setting up a router, swapping bits, or dragging out power. It is a fast way to break sharp edges on furniture, cabinets, and shop projects.

Overview

Woodpeckers EZE125-21 EZ Edge Corner Plane, 1/8" Radius Plus Rack-It is a hand-powered corner plane built to soften sharp wooden edges with a consistent 1/8 inch radius. This is a hand plane designed for edge easing, light profiling, and clean finishing work on woodworking projects. Model Number: EZE125-21. If you build cabinets, furniture, boxes, or trim pieces and want a finished edge without router setup time, this tool does the job in a few controlled strokes.

The big deal here is control. Woodpeckers uses a 90 degree V-shaped sole that naturally locates the tool on the corner of your stock, which keeps the cut centered as you work. Instead of fighting a standard block plane and hoping the chamfer stays even from end to end, the sole geometry guides the tool so each pass enlarges the profile evenly. On visible edges, that means the round-over looks intentional, not hand-fitted and uneven.

The adjustable depth-of-cut thumbwheel is what turns this from a simple edge breaker into a precision finishing tool. You can start light, check the profile, and add a few more passes until the edge lands exactly where you want it. That matters on figured hardwood, veneered panels, and show surfaces where taking too much off too quickly can ruin the look. The product description also calls out minimal backlash adjustment, which is the kind of detail that makes fine tuning feel predictable instead of sloppy.

Construction is set up for long service. The cutter is made from O1 tool steel and is hardened, polished, and precision ground for edge retention and clean slicing. The body is machined aluminum with an anodized finish that helps it glide smoothly over the workpiece with reduced friction. Put simply, it is built like a premium woodworking hand tool, not a throw-in accessory. When a tool rides directly on the finished surface, smooth travel and tight machining matter.

One of the best reasons to use this hand chamfer plane is what it avoids. You do not need electricity, router bits, dust collection, or a bench full of setup just to knock down a sharp edge. For small runs, one-off projects, touch-up work, or final edge relief after machining, grabbing a dedicated corner plane is often faster than setting up a router table or handheld router. It also cuts without the noise and dust that usually come with powered edge profiling.

This model is the 1/8 inch radius version, but the EZ Edge system is broader than a single profile. Woodpeckers also offers 3/16 inch radius, 1/4 inch radius, and 45 degree chamfer options, and the blades are interchangeable. That gives the platform some real flexibility if you want to expand later without learning a new tool. Each unit includes Rack-It storage, which is useful on a shop wall because edge tools tend to disappear into drawers when they do not have a dedicated home.

For day-to-day use, this tool makes sense for woodworkers who care about the details people actually touch. Sharp corners chip easily, feel rough in the hand, and can make an otherwise clean project feel unfinished. A light radius helps the piece look more deliberate, protects exposed edges from damage, and makes furniture and casework nicer to handle. That is true whether you are working in maple, walnut, figured stock, or basic shop lumber.

Who should buy it? Furniture makers, cabinetmakers, serious hobby woodworkers, and trim-focused builders will get the most out of it. If you routinely need one consistent edge profile and want a quicker alternative to a router for small parts and finished work, this is a smart shop addition. If you need multiple profile sizes, the interchangeable blade system makes the EZ Edge line worth a hard look.

Keep Edge Profiles Centered

The V-shaped sole is the reason this tool is easier to trust than a general-purpose plane for edge relief. It rides the corner and keeps the cutter where it belongs, so the cut stays centered from start to finish.

• 90 degree V-shaped sole locates the plane on the corner of the stock
• Designed to produce an even 1/8 inch radius with controlled passes

Adjust Slowly, Finish Clean

Depth control matters most when the edge will be seen and touched. The thumbwheel adjustment lets you creep up on the final profile instead of hoping one aggressive pass lands right where you want it.

• Thumbwheel depth adjustment supports fine tuning instead of guesswork
• Minimal backlash adjustment system helps maintain repeatable settings

Works On Challenging Grain

Highly figured stock can expose weak tools and sloppy geometry in a hurry. This design is meant to keep the cut controlled so you can ease edges on premium material without the process turning into a cleanup job.

• Woodpeckers specifically calls out quality cuts in figured and spalted stock
• Hand-powered use means no router setup, dust, or power cord to deal with

Easy To Maintain In The Shop

A hand tool only stays useful if you can keep it sharp without a headache. This cutter can be resharpened by honing the flat face on a bench stone, which keeps maintenance straightforward for a busy shop.

• O1 tool steel cutter is hardened, polished, and precision ground
• Replacement cutters are available for long-term use and system expansion

Pro Tip

Start with a light depth setting and make a full pass on all matching parts before opening the cut any further. That keeps your 1/8 inch radius consistent across doors, drawer fronts, and face-frame parts instead of tuning each piece one at a time.
