Overview

Wiha 30284 14 Piece SoftFinish Screwdriver Set is a professional hand tool set built for fastening, service, and repair work. This is a screwdriver set designed for everyday screwdriving tasks across shop, bench, and jobsite use. Model Number: 30284. If you want a set that covers the common slotted and Phillips drivers without a lot of filler, this one makes sense.

The set includes a useful spread of slotted drivers in 1/8", 3/16", and 1/4" (3.0, 4.5, and 6.5 mm) sizes, plus Phillips #0, Phillips #1, and several Phillips #2 options. You also get a stubby slotted driver and longer Phillips #2 drivers up to 12" (300 mm), which matters when you need either tight-space access or extra reach into panels, housings, and recessed fasteners.

What separates this set from bargain screwdrivers is the handle and tip quality. Wiha uses its SoftFinish cushion grip handle with an 8-edged large-diameter shape that puts more contact area in your palm. In real use, that means better turning force with less hand strain. The handles are also sized proportionately to each blade, so the smaller drivers stay nimble while the larger ones give you the leverage you want.

Each handle is direct molded to the blade for a permanent bond, which is the kind of detail pros care about because it holds up better under repeated daily use. The dual durometer construction adds durability without making the grip slick or harsh in hand. For repair techs, electricians, maintenance crews, and serious DIY users, that translates into better control and a more dependable feel when you're working on delicate screws one minute and stubborn fasteners the next.

Wiha also calls out premium-quality tool steel, precision heat treatment, and precision machined tips. Those details matter because exact-fit tips help keep the driver planted in the fastener instead of riding up and chewing the head. That is especially important on Phillips screws where poor tip fit turns into cam-out fast.

This set is designed and engineered by Wiha Germany, manufactured in Germany, and aimed squarely at users who care more about fit, comfort, and service life than getting the cheapest set on the shelf. If you do regular repair work, equipment service, electrical work, or general bench assembly, this set gives you the core drivers you actually reach for.

Pro Tip

Keep the long Phillips #2 drivers for recessed screws and panel work, and save the stubby driver for cabinet interiors and tight mechanical spaces. Using the shortest driver that fits the space usually gives you better control and less wobble at the tip.
