Key Features

Easier on Screw Heads The Wera Hex-Plus profile is designed so socket head screws live longer, which means fewer rounded-out heads and fewer drilled-out fasteners. Find the Size by Color Each L-key in this metric hex key set has its own color-coded sleeve with a contrasting size marking, so you grab the right key the first time. Ball End for Angled Access A hexagonal ballpoint on the long arm reaches screws that are off-axis or partly blocked, while the short arm keeps a full Hex-Plus tip.

Overview

The Wera 950/9 Hex-Plus Multicolour 1 SB L-Key Set, Metric, Blacklaser, 9-Pieces is a metric hex key set for mechanics, machinists, assemblers, cyclists, and anyone who works on hexagon socket screws. This is a set of L-keys designed for driving and loosening metric socket head cap screws and set screws. Model Number 05073593001 covers nine sizes from 1.5 mm to 10 mm in a two-component holding clip, packaged in Wera's SB (self-service) retail pack.

The headline feature is Hex-Plus. Wera shapes the hex profile of each key to protect the screw, so socket head screws last longer instead of rounding out under load. If you work on equipment where a stripped cap screw means drilling and extracting, a key that treats the fastener better is worth paying for.

Each key has a hexagonal ballpoint on the long arm and a straight Hex-Plus tip on the short arm. The ball end lets you engage a screw at an angle when a straight approach is blocked, and the long arm gives you reach and fast spinning. Flip the key around and the short arm gives you leverage for breaking screws loose and final tightening.

Wera's Take it easy tool finder puts every size in its own colored plastic sleeve with a contrasting size marking. You stop squinting at stamped numbers and pick the right key by color. The sleeves are easy to grip, even at low temperatures, which matters in an unheated shop or out on a cold service call.

The keys use Wera's BlackLaser surface finish. They store in a two-component clip made from wear-resistant material that holds each key by size and keeps the set together in a drawer or tool bag. If you prefer a version without the retail card, Wera also offers the Wera 950/9 Hex-Plus Multicolour 1 L-Key Set with the same nine keys.

The lengths scale with the size, from 3-9/16" (90 mm) on the 1.5 mm key to 8-13/16" (224 mm) on the 10 mm key. Larger keys get more reach and leverage, and smaller keys stay short enough to control on delicate fasteners.

Who should buy it? Machine and equipment techs, automotive and motorcycle mechanics, bike mechanics, furniture and fixture installers, and woodworkers setting up machinery. If you turn metric socket screws regularly, this set covers the common sizes from 1.5 to 10 mm in one clip.

Made for Real Assembly Work

Machine builds, fixture setups, and equipment repairs are full of socket head screws. A complete metric set in one clip keeps every size within reach at the bench.

• Nine metric sizes from 1.5 to 10 mm
• Two-component clip holds the keys by size

A Profile That Protects the Screw

Hex-Plus is Wera's answer to rounded socket screws. The profile is designed so the screw head survives repeated use. It is one of the reasons Wera hex key sets are a common pick for pros.

• Hex-Plus profile on every key in the set
• Helps socket head screws last longer

Full Contact Where It Counts

Seat the key fully in the socket and drive. The short arm gives you leverage to break screws loose, and the long ball-end arm handles fast run-down.

• Hexagonal ballpoint on the long arm
• Straight Hex-Plus tip on the short arm

A Clip That Keeps the Set Together

The two-component clip is made from wear-resistant material, so it keeps holding keys after years of pulling them in and out. Every size has a home and a missing key is obvious at a glance.

• Wear-resistant clip material
• Keys stored in size order

Pro Tip

Use the ball end to spin screws in and out quickly, then switch to the short straight arm for breaking loose and final torque. The full hex tip engages more of the socket than the ball, which is what saves the screw head.
