PlusMinus Tip The combination Phillips and slotted profile is made for mixed-geometry terminal screws common in electrical work. It helps the bit seat correctly so you spend less time fighting cam-out. 2-3/4" (70 mm) Reach The 70 mm length gives this drive bit extra access where terminal screws sit below covers or inside tighter assemblies. That added reach can make a small job go a lot smoother. Standard 1/4 Inch Hex The Wera 05059720001 851/4 Phillips/Slotted PlusMinus Bit fits standard 1/4 inch hex holders that follow DIN ISO 1173-F 6.3. That makes it an easy add to existing bit holders and screwdriving setups.

Overview

The Wera 05059720001 851/4 Phillips/Slotted PlusMinus Bit is a 1/4 inch hex drive bit built for combination Phillips and slotted screws. This is a drive bit designed for fastening mixed-geometry screws, especially in electrical applications where combination head screws are common. Model Number: 05059720001. If you run into terminal screws that never seem to fit quite right with a standard Phillips bit, this is the profile made for that job.

What matters here is the PlusMinus tip geometry. Instead of forcing a regular bit into a screw head that blends slotted and cross-recess shapes, this bit is made to match that screw style correctly. In real use, that means better contact in the fastener, less slipping, and less damage to screw heads when you're working on devices, panels, and electrical hardware.

The 2-3/4" (70 mm) overall blade length gives you more working reach than a stubby insert bit. That can help when screws are set deeper in housings or when surrounding parts limit tool access. It is still a straightforward bit, not a specialty attachment that needs a dedicated tool, so it is easy to carry in a daily-use kit for service work and install work.

Wera also calls this bit tough viscous for universal use. In plain terms, it is built to handle regular fastening work without being overly brittle. For pros and serious DIY users, that matters because a bit that fits the screw correctly is already doing half the work of reducing wear on both the bit and the fastener.

On the connection side, the 1/4 inch hexagon shank is suitable for holders as per DIN ISO 1173-F 6.3. That gives it broad compatibility with standard bit holders, screwdrivers, and power tool adapters that accept this common interface. You are not locked into a proprietary holder system.

This bit makes the most sense for electricians, maintenance techs, panel builders, and anyone who regularly deals with combination head screws. It is also a smart choice for a general service kit if you want the right profile on hand instead of improvising with a standard Phillips bit and hoping for the best.

Made for Combination Screws

This drive bit is built for screws that combine a Phillips and slotted shape in one head. That is common in electrical hardware, and using the right profile helps the bit seat better and drive more cleanly.

• PlusMinus profile for mixed Phillips/slotted screw heads
• #1 tip size suited to matching combination fasteners
• Useful for electrical devices, terminals, and service work

Pro Tip

If you work on electrical devices regularly, keep a PlusMinus bit in the same holder as your standard Phillips bits. Combination terminal screws look close enough to fool you, but the correct profile grabs better and is much less likely to chew up the screw head.
