15x Stronger Hold If you are tired of screws dropping off the bit, this fixes that problem fast. The magnetic enhancer boosts magnetic force up to 15 times compared to a magnetized bit, so small fasteners stay put longer while you line them up. Fits Common Bits The Vessel MGEP2 MAG ENHANCER Magnetic Screw Holder works with 1/4 inch hex shank and round shank bits, and it also fits smaller diameters. That makes it an easy add-on for everyday driver bits and screwdrivers without changing your setup. Magnetize or Demagnetize This is not just a screw holder. You can use it to magnetize a bit for better screw retention, then demagnetize by rubbing the bit on the side when you do not want metal sticking to the tip.

Overview

Vessel MGEP2 MAG ENHANCER Magnetic Screw Holder is a compact add-on for screwdrivers and driver bits that gives you a much stronger magnetic hold on screws. Model Number MGEP2. This is a magnetic screw holder designed for boosting bit magnetism and helping you start and hold screws with better control. It is a simple accessory, but on overhead work, finish hardware installs, and one-handed fastening, it solves a real problem fast.

The main reason to buy this magnetic screw holder is screw retention. Vessel rates it at up to 15 times more magnetic force compared to a magnetized bit. In practical terms, that means less fumbling when you are trying to place a screw in tight spots, above shoulder height, or anywhere your free hand is busy holding material, trim, electrical boxes, or hardware in place.

The MGEP2 is sized for the bits most users already carry. It is built to work with 1/4 inch hex shank and round shank bits, and it can also fit smaller diameters. It is also specified for 2 inch and longer power bits, which matters because longer bits are common when you need reach inside cabinets, around obstacles, or through installed hardware. If your daily kit already revolves around standard insert bits and power bits, this drops right into that workflow.

At just 13/16" (21 mm) overall length, the enhancer adds very little extra bulk at the end of the bit. That matters more than it sounds. A magnetic accessory that is too long or clumsy can get in the way near corners and hardware. This one is short enough to stay practical while still giving you more screw control where it counts.

Another useful detail is that this accessory does more than hold a screw. It can also be used to magnetize a driver bit, and when you want to back off that magnetic effect, you can demagnetize by rubbing the bit back and forth on the side and releasing the tip last. That gives it more day-to-day flexibility than a basic magnetic sleeve. If you bounce between clean assembly work and jobs where metal dust or small loose fasteners become a nuisance, that is a real advantage.

The build is straightforward and job-focused. This is not a complicated attachment with moving parts to fail. It is a small accessory meant to live in a bit case, pocket, or toolbox and come out when screw control matters. The two-piece pack also helps because one can stay in the driver while the spare stays with your hand screwdriver, backup bit, or service bag.

For real-world use, this accessory makes the most sense for installers, service techs, maintenance crews, electricians, HVAC techs, cabinet installers, and serious DIY users who spend time driving small or medium screws where drops slow the job down. It is especially handy for awkward starts, light assembly, trim hardware, and repair work where you need the screw to stay on the bit while you get lined up.

If you already like your current driver bits and just want better fastening control without switching systems, the Vessel MGEP2 MAG ENHANCER Magnetic Screw Holder is the kind of low-cost upgrade that earns its place quickly. It is not a replacement for a good bit, but it is a smart accessory when stronger screw hold saves time and frustration.
