Key Features

Precision 4 mm Shank A 3/16" (4 mm) shank diameter reaches slotted screws where a standard-width driver is too thick to seat cleanly or would mar the surrounding surface. Black-Point Precision Tip Vessel finishes the tip with a high-precision black-point grind stated to be unaffected by plating thickness, so it seats consistently in plated screw slots instead of riding up out of them. 100 mm Shank for Reach A 100 mm shank length gets into recessed slotted fasteners that a shorter precision driver can't reach.

Overview

This is a precision slotted screwdriver designed for electronics, instrument, and fine-mechanical work where a standard-width blade is too thick to do the job cleanly. The Vessel 910S4100 MEGADORA Thin Shank Screwdriver carries a slotted (SL4) tip on a narrow 4 mm shank, built for screws in tight or delicate assemblies rather than general hand tool work.

Vessel describes this as a "precision type" driver, purpose-built for 3/16" (4 mm) or smaller blade diameters - a category apart from its Standard and Tang-Thru MEGADORA lines, which use thicker shanks meant for higher-torque driving. The tip carries a black-point finish that Vessel states holds up regardless of plating thickness on the screw itself, which matters on small plated fasteners where a driver can otherwise slip up out of the slot.

Specs on this model: a 0.020" (0.5 mm) tip thickness, 4 mm shank diameter, 100 mm shank length, 13/16" (21 mm) grip diameter, and 7" (178 mm) overall length. That's a longer reach than the shorter 75 mm version in the same Thin Shank line, without stepping up to the 6" or 8" (150 or 200 mm) lengths meant for deeper recesses.

This driver is a fit for electronics assembly and repair, instrument work, and any task involving small plated slotted screws where a general-purpose screwdriver's blade is simply too wide to seat in the slot without camming out or scarring the surrounding surface.

Purpose-Built for Slotted 3/16" (4 mm) Screws

Vessel built the Thin Shank line specifically for blade diameters of 3/16" (4 mm) or smaller - a size standard-width screwdrivers don't offer - so this driver seats into narrow slotted screws without the shank crowding the surrounding hardware.

• Slotted (SL4) tip, 0.020" (0.5 mm) tip thickness
• 4 mm shank diameter, 100 mm shank length, 7" (178 mm) overall

Pro Tip

This is a precision driver, not a pry bar - the thin 4 mm shank is sized for delicate, plated slotted screws, not for prying or high-torque general fastening. For everyday slotted work, reach for a standard-width MEGADORA driver instead and save this one for the small stuff.

Warranty & Support

Vessel covers this screwdriver under its standard 3-Year warranty for Vessel-brand screwdrivers, requiring proof of purchase through an authorized dealer.

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

The Right Size for the Job a Standard Driver Can't Do

The Vessel 910S4100 exists for the exact moment a normal slotted screwdriver is too fat for the screw in front of you.

• Who it's for: Electronics techs, instrument repair, and anyone working plated slotted screws too small for a general-purpose driver.
• Why it stands out: A dedicated 4 mm shank and black-point tip built specifically for precision work, not a scaled-down general driver.
• Worth knowing: Data on this exact SKU is limited outside Vessel's own spec sheet - weight and country of origin aren't published, and it's a single driver, not a set, so plan tip coverage accordingly if you need multiple sizes.

Common Questions

• What does "SL4" mean on this screwdriver? Slotted tip, 4 mm shank diameter - Vessel's designation for this size in the Thin Shank line.
• How is the Thin Shank line different from Vessel's Standard MEGADORA screwdrivers? The Thin Shank series uses a narrower 4 mm-or-smaller shank diameter for precision work, versus the thicker shanks on Vessel's Standard and Tang-Thru lines meant for general and higher-torque driving.
• Is this screwdriver covered under warranty? Yes - it falls under Vessel's standard 3-Year warranty for Vessel-brand screwdrivers.
