Key Features

1,200 RPM Higher-Speed Drive The Higher-Speed e-ASSIST spins fasteners home at up to 1,200 RPM - Vessel rates it 4 times faster than the standard 220USB - so repetitive small-screw work moves faster. USB-Rechargeable Li-ion Cell A built-in 3.6V 800mAh lithium-ion battery charges over Micro USB, so there's no separate charger, no disposable batteries, and no swappable pack to lose track of. Manual Torque to 88.5 lbf-in Once the electric motor seats the fastener, switch to manual mode for up to 88.5 in-lbs (10 Nm) of hand torque for the final tightening turn.

Overview

This is a USB-rechargeable hybrid screwdriver designed for fast, repetitive small-fastener driving where a full cordless drill is overkill. The Vessel 220USBS1U e-ASSIST Higher-Speed Screwdriver combines an electric-assist motor with a manual driving mode in one ball-grip handle, and is the higher-RPM counterpart to Vessel's Higher Torque e-ASSIST model.

The electric side runs at up to 1,200 RPM and 3.5 in-lbs (0.4 Nm) of output - Vessel states this is four times faster than its standard 220USB screwdriver - which is built for spinning a screw down quickly rather than driving it fully home under power. Once the fastener is seated, you switch to manual mode and finish the tightening by hand, with up to 88.5 in-lbs (10 Nm) of manual torque capacity available.

Power comes from a built-in 3.6V, 800mAh lithium-ion cell that recharges over a Micro USB port, and a high-brightness LED lights the work area as you drive. The tool measures 5-1/2" (140 mm) overall with a 90 mm shank and a 1-11/16" (43 mm) grip diameter, and uses a standard H6.35mm (1/4-in.) hex shank so it accepts common quick-change driver bits.

Vessel specifies this model for fasteners up to M6 - it's not rated for Phillips #3, Hex H6, or Torx T40 and larger, and the electric assist is meant for driving the screw down, not for final tightening. That manual-only final turn is a deliberate design choice, not a limitation to work around, since finishing a small screw under motor power risks stripping it.

This is the tool for electronics assembly, small appliance and enclosure work, cabinet and furniture hardware, and any bench task where you're driving the same size screw dozens of times a shift and don't want to keep reaching for a drill.

Dual-Mode Driving: Electric Start, Manual Finish

The 220USBS1U runs the fastener down under electric power, then hands control back to you for the final turn by hand - so you get speed on the repetitive part of the job and manual feel where it actually matters for a clean, non-stripped finish.

• Electric output: 3.5 in-lbs (0.4 Nm) at up to 1,200 RPM
• Manual torque capacity: up to 88.5 in-lbs (10 Nm)

Four Times Faster Than the Standard 220USB

The 220USBS1U is Vessel's Higher-Speed model in the e-ASSIST line, tuned for RPM over raw output. If your work is mostly small screws driven in volume, this model gets you through them faster than the standard 220USB or the Higher-Torque 220USB1U.

• Rated 4x faster tightening speed than Vessel's standard 220USB
• Part of Vessel's e-ASSIST family alongside the Higher Torque (220USB1U) model

Ready to Use Out of the Box

The 220USBS1U ships with an impact-rated Phillips bit and its own charging cable, so it's ready to charge and use without a separate bit or accessory purchase.

• Includes an Impact Ball Torsion Bit, Phillips #2 x 3-9/16" (90 mm)
• Includes a 39" (1 m) Micro USB-B charging cable

Pro Tip

Let the motor drive the screw only until it's seated, then finish by hand in manual mode. Because the Higher-Speed model spins faster than the Higher-Torque 220USB1U, running it under power past the point of seating is more likely to strip a small M6 or smaller screw head.

Warranty & Support

Vessel covers e-ASSIST series products, including the 220USBS1U, under a 6-month warranty. Coverage requires proof of purchase through an authorized dealer and does not extend to product bought through unauthorized resellers.

Tool Nut's Take

Speed for the Repetitive Small Screws, Control for the Last Turn

The Vessel 220USBS1U is built for the job where you're driving the same small screw over and over and don't want to babysit a drill's clutch.

• Who it's for: Electronics assemblers, cabinet installers, and bench techs running high volumes of small fasteners where speed on the drive-down matters more than raw torque.
• Why it stands out: Dual-mode operation - electric to seat the screw, manual to finish it - plus a USB-rechargeable battery that skips the charger and swappable-pack hassle entirely.
• Worth knowing: It's capped at M6 fasteners and isn't meant to replace a drill for anything larger - if you need Phillips #3, Hex H6, or Torx T40+, look at Vessel's other driver lines instead.

Common Questions

• What's the difference between the 220USB1U and the 220USBS1U? The 220USB1U is Vessel's Higher Torque e-ASSIST model; the 220USBS1U is the Higher Speed model, spinning at up to 1,200 RPM for faster repetitive driving.
• What size screws can the 220USBS1U handle? It's rated for fasteners up to M6. It is not intended for Phillips #3, Hex H6, or Torx T40 and larger.
• Can I use the electric motor for the final tightening turn? No - Vessel specifies manual mode only for final tightening; the electric assist is meant to run the screw down, not finish it.
• How does it charge? Through the built-in Micro USB Type-B port using the included 39" (1 m) cable and any USB power source.
