Key Features

Fine, Smooth Ratchet Action A 3-position switch clockwise, locked, or counterclockwise lets you drive or back out fasteners without lifting the tip off the screw between turns. Replaceable Blade Unit The blade unit separates from the ratchet handle, so a worn or damaged tip can be replaced without buying a whole new driver. Elastic Ball Grip A rounded, elastic ball-grip handle spreads torque across your palm for reliable tightening and reduced hand fatigue on repetitive fastening work.

Overview

This is a ratcheting screwdriver set built for repetitive fastening without repositioning your grip on every turn. The Vessel 22005EVA Ball Grip Ratchet Screwdriver 5-Piece Set pairs a fine, smooth ratchet mechanism with a rounded elastic ball-grip handle, covering three Phillips sizes and two slotted sizes.

The ratchet itself runs through a 3-position switch clockwise, locked, or counterclockwise operated by hand without needing to reach for a separate control. Vessel builds the mechanism to turn smoothly under load rather than clicking loosely, which keeps the driver from slipping off the fastener mid-turn. The blade is a separate, replaceable unit rather than fixed permanently into the handle: if a tip wears out or snaps, you replace the blade instead of the whole tool, extending the useful life of the ratchet handle itself.

Blade steel is fully hardened, made from the same material Vessel uses in its Tatara-forged blades a reference to the traditional Japanese iron-forging process the company has applied to screwdriver steel since its 1916 founding. The shank carries a slim cover intended to reduce the chance of a short-circuit contact while working near live components, though Vessel is explicit that the tool's electrical insulation is not guaranteed treat it as a mechanical safeguard, not an insulated-rated tool, and always shut off power before working near electrical connections.

Each blade also carries a magnetic tip to hold screws in place for one-handed starts, useful when working overhead or in a tight space where you can't hold the fastener and the driver at the same time.

This set fits anyone doing repetitive assembly, panel, or maintenance work where a ratchet saves real time over repositioning a standard driver on every turn electronics assembly, appliance service, automotive trim and panel work, and general maintenance.

Five Sizes, One Ratchet Handle

Three Phillips and two slotted blades cover the sizes most common in general fastening, all sharing the same ratchet handle mechanism.

• Phillips #2 x 4-in., #2 x 6-in., #3 x 6-in.
• Slotted 1/4-in. x 4-in. and 1/4-in. x 6-in.
• Magnetic tips hold fasteners for one-handed starts

Ratchet Without the Slip

The rotation switch is built into the handle itself, so you can change direction with a thumb without breaking your grip on the driver.

• Clockwise, locked, and counterclockwise settings
• Fine tooth engagement for smooth, controlled ratcheting
• Elastic ball grip keeps torque centered in your palm

Pro Tip

Set the ratchet to lock for the first few turns to seat a fastener without cam-out risk, then switch to ratchet mode once the screw is running true it keeps the tip from riding up out of the recess on the initial bite.

Covered by Vessel Tools USA's 3-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects, standard on all Vessel-brand screwdrivers. Does not cover damage from misuse, abuse, alteration, or normal wear.

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

A Ratchet Set That Doesn't Skimp on Blade Quality

The Vessel 22005EVA Ball Grip Ratchet Screwdriver Set backs a smooth 3-position ratchet with a genuinely replaceable, hardened blade not a throwaway driver with a gimmick handle.

• Who it's for: Anyone driving a lot of fasteners in one sitting electronics assembly, panel work, repetitive maintenance who wants to save the wrist motion of a standard driver.
• Why it stands out: The replaceable blade unit means a worn tip doesn't retire the whole tool, which most ratchet screwdrivers in this price range don't offer.
• Worth knowing: This set is not electrically insulated Vessel says so directly on the packaging. Keep it away from live circuits despite the slim shank cover.

Common Questions

• Can the blade be replaced if it wears out or breaks? Yes the blade is a separate unit from the ratchet handle and can be swapped without replacing the whole driver.
• Is this ratchet screwdriver electrically insulated? No. Vessel states insulation is not guaranteed on this set and instructs users to shut off power before working near electrical circuits.
• How many ratchet positions does the handle have? Three clockwise, locked, and counterclockwise.
• Where is this set made? Thailand.
