Overview

The Tajima SCR-L200 Scrape-Rite 8" (200 mm) 8-in. is a heavy-duty reversible blade scraper built for stripping, scraping, and surface prep. This is a paint scraper designed for removing wallpaper, floor residue, roofing material, and other stuck-on debris. Model Number: SCR-L200. If you need a hand scraper that can handle tougher jobs without feeling flimsy, this is the kind of tool you keep in the truck instead of the junk drawer.

What makes this scraper matter is how it combines an aggressive scraping setup with a blade system most tradespeople already know. It uses 11/16" (18 mm) snap-off blades, so replacement is straightforward, and the reversible setup gives you two working edge options. That means you can run a more standard scraping edge for controlled removal or flip the blade when you need a sharper bite on adhesive, wall covering, or stubborn surface buildup.

Tajima backs that up with real structural strength where it counts. The head is die-cast aluminum, the shaft is reinforced, and the back of the handle uses a stainless steel striking end cap so you can tap it when material does not want to let go. That is a big deal on floor prep and demolition cleanup, where a light-duty scraper usually starts flexing, loosening, or flat-out quitting.

The head geometry is also built for practical scraping, not just spec-sheet filler. The angled head and blade position help the edge stay engaged with the work surface, which makes long pulls on walls, floors, and ceilings less awkward. On wallpaper stripping, that helps you stay flatter to the surface. On floor residue, it helps you keep pressure at the edge instead of rolling up onto the corners of the blade.

Grip matters on a tool like this, and Tajima did not overlook that. The handle uses a thick elastomer wrap for a more secure hold when your hands are dusty or when the tool is fighting back. Combined with the reinforced body, that gives the scraper a more planted feel during repeated passes, especially when you are clearing glue lines, roofing residue, or old finish buildup.

For jobsite practicality, this is a smart setup because it ships with three blades and a protective blade guard or safety hard pack. You are not buying the tool and then immediately hunting for something just to start working. And because it uses a common 18 mm blade format, keeping it fed over time is easier than dealing with oddball proprietary scraper blades.

This scraper makes the most sense for painters, remodelers, flooring installers, wallpaper removal crews, roofers, and general contractors who regularly deal with cleanup and surface prep. Serious DIY users will appreciate it too, but the build leans clearly toward people who want a scraper that can take abuse. If your normal work includes adhesive removal, paint scraping, wallpaper stripping, or rough prep before refinishing, this tool earns its space fast.

Made for Real Surface Prep

This is the kind of scraper you grab when the material is bonded on and you need to actually move it, not just scratch at it. The heavier-duty body helps the blade stay engaged when you are working on floor residue, old adhesive, or other stubborn buildup.

• Designed for wall, floor, ceiling, and roofing applications
• Angled head helps deliver fast, efficient scraping action

Get More Life from the Blade Setup

The reversible blade design gives you more flexibility than a fixed-edge scraper. You can choose the edge style that suits the material, which is useful when moving between wallpaper stripping, paint scraping, and general cleanup.

• Compatible with 11/16" (18 mm) snap-off blades
• Reversible blade can be used for standard scraping or a sharper scraping edge

Built to Take a Beating

Cheap scrapers fail at the head, the shaft, or the handle cap. This one is built around those stress points so it can handle tougher removal work without feeling disposable.

• Die-cast aluminum head adds strength at the blade end
• Reinforced shaft and stainless steel end cap support harder-use scraping work

Tajima SCR-L200 Scrape-Rite 8" (200 mm) 8-in. Control You Can Feel

A scraper works better when it feels solid in the hand and predictable on the surface. The thicker handle and rigid body help you keep pressure where you want it, which matters on repeated passes and detail cleanup.

• Thick elastomer-wrapped handle improves grip and comfort
• Overall length is 8" (200 mm) for a compact, controlled feel

• Why it stands out: The die-cast aluminum head, reinforced shaft, stainless steel striking cap, and reversible 11/16" (18 mm) blade setup give it more muscle and more flexibility than a throwaway scraper.
