Key Features

Built for Daily WearThe die-cast aluminum case, metal handle, and wear-resistant metal tip are there for one reason: this chalk line holds up better when it gets clipped to a belt, dropped in a pouch, and used every day on layout work. Ultra-Thin Snap LineThis Tajima CR802SFB Chalk-Rite MINI Chalk Line uses a specially braided 0.020" (0.5 mm) line to leave a finer mark. That matters when you want cleaner, more precise layout lines instead of a fat chalk blur. Fast Rewind, Compact SizeThe five-gear winding mechanism speeds up line retrieval, and the compact body stays easy to carry. Good setup for punch-list work, interior layout, and anyone who wants a chalk reel that does not eat up belt space.

Overview

The Tajima CR802SFB Chalk-Rite MINI Chalk Line is a compact chalk line reel built for construction layout where durability and control matter more than bulk size. This is a chalk line designed for marking straight reference lines for construction and finish layout. Model Number: CR802SFB. If you want a reel that carries easily, snaps a finer line, and stands up to repeated jobsite use, this one is aimed squarely at that kind of work.

The big selling point here is the ultra-thin 0.020" (0.5 mm), braided line. A thinner line means a sharper mark, which is useful when you are laying out cut lines, reference marks, or finish details and do not want a wide fuzzy chalk stripe getting in the way. Tajima also gives this reel 50 feet of line, which is enough length for a lot of common layout tasks without making the body oversized.

Tajima built the Chalk-Rite MINI around a die-cast aluminum case with a collapsible metal handle and a wear-resistant metal tip on the cap. Those are not throwaway details. They matter because chalk lines live rough lives: clipped to belts, tossed into bags, dragged across framing, and pulled tight over and over. A metal case and metal contact points tend to hold up better than lighter-duty plastic reels when the tool sees regular use.

The smooth-running five-gear winding mechanism is another feature that actually means something on the job. Faster, smoother rewind saves time every time you pull a long line, and it also makes the reel less annoying to use through the day. That is especially noticeable on repetitive layout work where you are constantly pulling, snapping, and rewinding.

Jobsite practicality is a strong part of the design. The compact body is shaped to sit comfortably in the hand, and the front hook groove gives you a secure place to store it when not in use. There is also a large gasket-sealed refill port, which makes adding chalk less fussy and helps manage spills better than tiny fill openings. For a tool this small, those convenience details make a difference.

On the system side, this chalk reel is compatible with Tajima CLIP-n-HOLD holders and is described as compatible with the CLIP-n-HOLD series. If you already use that carry setup, this reel fits into that workflow without making you improvise storage. That kind of accessory compatibility matters for users who keep layout tools on their belt all day.

Who is it for? Carpenters, remodelers, general contractors, interior trades, and serious DIY users who want a compact chalk snap-line for accurate layout. It makes the most sense for buyers who care about a tough case, cleaner line marks, and easy belt carry more than maximum line capacity. If your work involves frequent short-to-medium layout pulls and you are tired of bulky reels, this is the smarter size.

Compact Enough to Carry All Day

This reel is made for users who actually carry layout tools, not just store them in a box. The compact body keeps bulk down on your belt while still giving you the durability of a metal-heavy build.

• Compatible with CLIP-n-HOLD holders and the CLIP-n-HOLD series
• Front hook groove helps keep the reel secured when stored

Designed to Leave a Finer Mark

The specially crafted braided line is built to produce a narrow snap line. That is the kind of detail that helps when accuracy matters and you do not want thick chalk marks covering your reference point.

• 0.020" (0.5 mm) ultra-thin line for cleaner layout marks
• 50 ft. line length handles common jobsite layout tasks

Built to Hold Up Better

Tajima did not cut corners on the parts that take abuse. The case, handle, and tip all lean toward durability, which is exactly what you want in a chalk reel that gets used hard and handled constantly.

• Compact heavy-duty aluminum case resists repeated wear
• Collapsible metal handle and metal tip add strength where it counts

Faster Rewind, Less Fuss

A chalk line gets old fast if the rewind is rough or slow. The five-gear winding system is there to make repeated pull-and-snap work smoother and quicker through the day.

• Smooth-running five-gear winding mechanism
• Large gasket-sealed refill port helps make chalk refills easier to manage
