Overview

The Tajima CR201R-PR Chalk-Rite II Extra Bold Metallic Red is a premium chalk line with Model Number CR201R-PR built for fast layout work and high-visibility marking. This is a chalk line designed for snapping extra-bold layout lines over long runs. If you need a layout tool that is easier to see than a standard line and tough enough for daily use, this is the one Tajima built for that job.

What sets this chalk line apart is the 1/16" (1.0 mm) premium braided snap line. Tajima rates it as an Extra Bold line, which matters when you are laying out framing, siding, roofing, or other work where a thin mark can disappear into the material. The 100 ft line length also gives you enough reach for bigger layout tasks without constantly repositioning.

The five-gear winding system is a real selling point here. A chalk line only helps if it is quick to reset, and the smooth gear drive is built to rewind faster and with less fuss than a basic direct-drive box. On repetitive layout work, that saves time and keeps the tool from feeling like a chore to use.

Tajima uses a gasket-sealed die-cast aluminum case instead of a lighter plastic body. That means better durability when the tool gets tossed in a bag, rides in a pouch, or lands on a subfloor. The sealed refill port is also a practical detail because chalk can get messy fast, and a better seal helps control spills while keeping the body cleaner.

The large refill opening is another smart touch. Filling a chalk box should not mean fighting a tiny port and wasting dye. A larger neck makes refills easier and quicker, especially when you are topping off on the job and trying to keep moving.

At about 0.7 lbs in weight, this Tajima chalk line has enough substance to feel solid without turning into dead weight on your belt or in your hand. The metallic red finish also makes it easier to spot in a crowded tool bag. The heavy-duty body, braided line, and fast rewind system all point to the same thing: this tool is meant to be used hard, not babied.

This Tajima chalk line is best suited for carpenters, framers, roofers, remodelers, and general contractors who snap lines regularly and want a bolder mark than a standard chalk reel delivers. Serious DIY users will appreciate it too, but this is really aimed at people who use a snap line enough to notice the difference between a cheap box and one that works smoothly day after day.

See the Line Faster

The main reason to buy this chalk line is simple: the mark is easier to read. Tajima pairs a 1/16" (1.0 mm) braided line with an Extra Bold format so your snapped line stands out better when the surface is rough or the layout is long.

• Premium braided line creates an extra bold 1/16" (1.0 mm) line
• 98.4 ft (30 m) line length supports long layout runs

Refill Without the Usual Mess

The large gasket-sealed refill port makes this snap line quicker to fill and easier to keep under control. That matters when you are refilling on site and do not want chalk all over your hands, bag, and truck.

• Large fill neck speeds up chalk loading
• Gasket-sealed port helps contain chalk inside the case

Built for Daily Jobsite Use

Cheap chalk boxes usually fail at the case or feel slow on rewind. This one addresses both problems with a die-cast aluminum body and Tajima's smooth-running five-gear drive, so it is better suited for repeated use on active jobsites.

• Heavy-duty die-cast aluminum case resists jobsite abuse
• Five-gear winding mechanism rewinds smoothly and quickly

Pro Tip

Do not overfill the box just because the refill port is large. Leave a little room so the braided line can stay evenly coated and rewind clean instead of packing the case with excess chalk.
