Key Features

Find Laser Lines Farther Out This Stabila line receiver picks up pulse-modulated red and green laser lines when the beam is hard to see at distance. That lets you keep working on brighter jobsites and across larger layout areas. Easy Readout Both Sides Dual illuminated digital displays, plus acoustic and visual guidance, make alignment quicker whether the receiver is facing you or mounted on a rod. Less guesswork, faster setup. Built for Real Jobsites With an IP 66 protection rating and a rugged housing, it is made for dust, water, and daily site use. The integrated magnet system and removable bracket add more mounting options when you need hands-free work.

Overview

The Stabila RL 230 RG Line Receiver, model 07210, is a laser receiver built to extend the usable range of compatible red and green line lasers. This is a line receiver designed for locating pulse-modulated laser lines over longer distances and in conditions where the line is no longer easy to see. If you are doing layout, elevation checks, or transfer work on a bright jobsite, this accessory helps you keep the reference line usable instead of stopping when visibility drops off.

What matters here is not just that it detects a laser line, but that it does it in a way that speeds up real work. The receiver uses acoustic and visual guidance so you can move quickly to the reference plane without staring at the laser itself. The illuminated digital display is on both sides, which is a practical feature when the receiver is clipped to a rod or positioned where only one side is visible from your working position.

The detection window measures 3.5 inches, giving you a useful pickup area when you are sweeping for the beam. It has a working range of up to 330 feet and a receiving spectrum of 500 to 680 nanometers, which covers the red and green laser applications this receiver is meant for. That makes it a solid fit for indoor and outdoor measuring tasks where standard line visibility is the limiting factor.

Stabila also built this unit for site conditions, not shop-shelf life. The RL 230 RG carries an IP 66 rating for dustproof and waterproof protection, so it is better suited to concrete work, exterior layout, and dirty environments than lighter-duty receivers. The rugged housing, integrated magnet system on the upper edge, and removable mounting bracket give you multiple ways to position it depending on whether you are working off steel, a grade rod, or a fixed reference.

Compatibility is a big part of the value. The Stabila RL 230 RG Line Receiver is intended for pulse-modulated red and green line lasers, not just any visible line laser. That means it is part of a measuring system, and it makes the most sense for users already working with compatible Stabila laser platforms or other lasers that match the required pulse-modulated red or green line output. If your laser supports receiver mode, this accessory expands what that laser can do on larger jobs.

This receiver is a smart buy for concrete contractors, site layout crews, remodelers, general contractors, and anyone setting elevations or reference lines across spaces where visibility changes throughout the day. It is especially useful for pros who already trust a line laser for accuracy but need more reach and easier readout once the beam gets washed out by distance or ambient light.

Work Beyond Visible Laser Range

When a laser line fades out in bright light or at longer distances, the receiver keeps the job moving. That is the whole reason to own one: it turns a limited visual reference into a usable measuring setup across a larger work area.

• Designed for pulse-modulated red and green line lasers
• Working range up to 330 ft
• Dual displays help when the unit is mounted on a rod and viewed from either side

Fast Alignment Without Guesswork

The RL 230 RG is built to tell you clearly where you are relative to the line. Audible guidance helps when your eyes are on the rod or reference mark, and the visual readout gives you a quick confirmation as you move into position.

• Illuminated digital display on both sides
• Acoustic and visual guidance for easier positioning
• Two sensitivity levels for different measuring tasks

Stabila RL 230 RG Line Receiver Jobsite Durability

This is not a delicate add-on meant for clean indoor-only use. Between the sealed housing, magnet system, and bracket mounting, it is made for the kind of setup changes and site conditions that come with real field work.

• IP 66 rated for dustproof and waterproof protection
• Integrated magnet system on the upper edge of the housing
• Removable bracket supports mounting on elevation rods

Pro Tip

If you are running a line laser on a bright site, switch the laser into receiver mode and mount the RL 230 RG on a rod before you start marking elevations. It is faster to bring the rod to grade than to hunt for a washed-out line by hand over and over.

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

A simple add-on that makes your laser a lot more useful

The Stabila RL 230 RG Line Receiver is the kind of measuring accessory that earns its spot the first time your laser line disappears and the job still has to get done.

• Who it's for: Pros using compatible red or green line lasers for layout, elevation transfer, and longer-distance measuring on active jobsites.
• Why it stands out: Dual illuminated displays, audible guidance, IP 66 protection, and mounting options make it practical instead of finicky.
• Worth knowing: This only makes sense if your laser is pulse-modulated and receiver-compatible. If it is, this is a smart upgrade. If it is not, the receiver will not do the heavy lifting for you.

Common Questions

• What type of lasers does this receiver work with? It is designed for pulse-modulated red and green line lasers.
• Can it be used when the laser line is no longer visible? Yes. That is its main job: locating the laser line relative to the reference plane over longer distances or in low-visibility conditions.
• Is it built for outdoor or dirty jobsite conditions? Yes. The housing is rated IP 66 for dustproof and waterproof protection.
• Does it have readouts on both sides? Yes. The RL 230 RG uses illuminated digital displays on both sides for easier reading when mounted or repositioned.
