Overview

The Stabila 30626 BM 300 Inch/MM Scale 26 ft./8m Tape Measure is a professional pocket tape built for accurate layout, general measuring, and day-to-day jobsite use. This is a tape measure designed for precise measuring in construction, woodworking, cabinet work, and remodeling. Model number 30626. If you need one tape that is easy to read, comfortable to carry, and less likely to get beat up in daily use, this is the point of the BM 300.

What matters most here is usability. Stabila gives this tape a two-sided inch and millimeter scale, which makes a real difference when you are measuring inside a case, marking out stock on a bench, or checking dimensions from an awkward angle. You spend less time twisting the blade around just to read the numbers. The EC Class II accuracy rating also tells you this is built for reliable measurement work, not just rough reference marks.

The housing is made from PC/ABS with a shock-absorbing soft-grip casing. That matters because tape measures do not live easy lives. They get tossed in bags, dropped on subfloors, clipped to belts, and knocked around on trim carts and cabinet installs. A tougher case helps the tool last longer, while the soft-grip exterior keeps it from feeling slick in hand.

Stabila also uses its NYLON-WRAP blade coating for improved wear resistance. On a tape measure, blade coating is not just a talking point. It helps the printed scale stay readable longer and gives the blade a better chance of holding up when it rubs against wood edges, hardware, and rough material. If you rely on your tape every day, a more durable coating is worth paying attention to.

The STABILA SPIKES hook is another feature that actually earns its spot. It is designed to improve grip on the workpiece and reduce slipping when you are measuring solo. That is useful for layout on sheet goods, cabinet parts, framing components, and other situations where you need the hook to stay put long enough to make a clean mark. Add in the belt clip, and this becomes an easy tape to keep on you instead of digging for it every few minutes.

At 26 feet / 8 meters, this tape measure fits a wide range of common tasks without getting oversized for pocket carry. It is a good working length for interior layout, carpentry, installation work, punch list jobs, and general contractor use. The listed weight of 1.15 lbs gives it a solid feel without turning it into a brick on your belt.

Who should buy it? Pros who want a durable tape with metric and imperial markings, especially cabinet installers, carpenters, remodelers, and tradespeople bouncing between shop work and field work. Serious DIY users will appreciate it too, especially if they are tired of cheap tapes with hard-to-read blades or flimsy housings. This is not trying to be flashy. It is trying to be dependable, readable, and tough enough to stay in rotation.

Read Measurements Faster on the Job
