Overview

The SquiJig 3-in. Tall Framing Jigs, Blue, 2-Pack (model Squi.Jig-3-Blue) are extra-tall aluminum framing jigs that clamp onto most squares. This is a square-mounted layout jig set designed for stair layout, rafter layout, and metal fabrication fit-up. Each set includes two jigs and their screws.

On lumber they work as stair gauges, a rafter layout stop, a rip guide for a circular saw, or an angle guide on a speed square. They also hold a framing square upright on the stock so you can mark without a second set of hands.

On metal, the 3-in. height gets past the rounded corners of large square tube that throw off a short gauge. The cylinder barrels make it easy to square up round tube, act as a third hand when tacking parts together or lining up a turnbuckle, and let you hang or stand your square right on the material.

Dual slots and cylinder barrels give more mounting options than a standard stair gauge. The slot is 5/16 in. tall and fits square blades up to 0.31 in. (5/16 in.) thick.

Pick these over the 1.5-in. jigs if you do metal fab, work big tube, or want maximum reach on wide stock. They are made in the USA.

Dual Slots, More Ways to Clamp

Each jig has dual slots and a cylinder barrel, so you can mount it on a square in more orientations than a standard stair gauge.

• Dual slots for flexible mounting
• Thumbscrew clamps tight by hand

Built for Wood and Metal

The round barrels let the jigs sit on square and round tube as well as lumber, which makes them a real third hand during metal fab work.

• Square up round tube
• Overcome rounded edges on large square tube

The Fab Shop Version

The SquiJig 3-in. Tall Framing Jigs, Blue, 2-Pack do everything the shorter jigs do on lumber and add real value on steel tube.

• Who it's for: Welders, fabricators, and framers who want one jig set for wood and metal.
• Why it stands out: The 3-in. reach and round barrels handle large square tube and round tube that a short gauge cannot.
• Worth knowing: Bulkier than the 1.5-in. jigs, so if you only frame with lumber the shorter set packs smaller.

Common Questions

• Will these fit my square? They fit squares with a blade up to 0.31 in. (5/16 in.) thick.
• How are these different from the 1.5-in. jigs? They are twice as tall, have dual slots and cylinder barrels, and add metal fabrication uses like squaring round tube.
