Key Features

15 Amp Muscle The big 15 amp motor is built for heavy demolition and tough cutouts. When you hit dense wood, metal, or mixed material, it has the power to keep the cut moving instead of stalling out. Less Shake, More Control BUZZKILL Technology cuts in-line vibration at the source, which matters on long demo days. You get a corded reciprocating saw that is easier to control and less tiring to run. Faster in Wood Orbital mode and a variable speed dial let you match the cut to the material. That means faster ripping in wood and better control when you need a cleaner start or slower cut.

Overview

The SKIL SPT44-10 Corded 15 Amp Heavy Duty Reciprocating Saw is built for serious demolition, tough cutouts, and aggressive jobsite cutting where a lighter-duty saw just is not enough. This is a reciprocating saw designed for heavy-duty demolition and material removal. Model Number: SPT44-10. If you work in remodeling, construction, salvage, fencing, or general tear-out, this saw is aimed right at that kind of use.

The headline here is simple: power plus control. The 15 amp motor gives this reciprocating saw the strength to keep cutting through demanding materials, while Constant Response electronics help maintain output when the saw loads up. In practical terms, that means less bogging down when you lean into thick lumber, demolition cuts, or metal removal. The 0 to 2,900 strokes per minute range gives you room to work fast when the job calls for it, but still back the speed down when you need a more controlled start.

SKIL also gave this saw a 1-1/4 inch stroke length, which is a big part of why it moves material quickly. A longer stroke helps clear chips and keeps the blade working efficiently, especially in framing lumber, old decking, mixed demo, and general tear-out. Add the orbital mode switch and you get even faster wood cutting when speed matters more than a refined finish. For anyone doing demolition, that is a feature you will actually use.

Where the SKIL SPT44-10 Corded 15 Amp Heavy Duty Reciprocating Saw separates itself from a lot of other corded recip saws is vibration control. SKIL's patented BUZZKILL Technology uses a full-frame linear counterbalance to reduce in-line vibration at the source. That matters more than it sounds on paper. Less vibration means the saw feels steadier in the cut, your hands take less abuse over a long day, and it is easier to stay on line when you are cutting overhead, in awkward positions, or through material that wants to grab the blade.

The saw is also built with real-world jobsite use in mind. Soft-start electronics help when you need to place the blade accurately before committing to the cut, which is useful for plunge starts, window openings, pipe work, and controlled demolition. The variable speed dial gives you another layer of control for specialized materials. Instead of treating every cut the same, you can tune the saw to wood, metal, or mixed material depending on the blade and task.

This is a corded platform, so there is no battery system to manage and no runtime drop-off to think about. If you are working near power and need consistent output all day, a corded reciprocating saw still makes a lot of sense. The 8 foot cord gives you decent reach before you even add an extension cord, and the keyless blade change helps keep blade swaps quick when you move from wood cutting to metal cutting or general demolition work.

At 11.3 pounds, this is not a lightweight trim saw, and that is worth saying plainly. The weight is part of what makes it feel planted in harder cuts, but it also tells you what kind of user this is for. If you want a compact recip saw for occasional light cuts, this is probably more saw than you need. If you want a full-size demolition saw that can stay productive in rough material and long sessions, the added size and weight start to make sense fast.

Who should buy it? Pros doing demolition, remodelers opening walls, contractors cutting framing and fasteners, fence and deck crews, salvage and dismantling work, and serious DIY users who want a corded reciprocating saw that leans toward durability and cutting speed instead of compact size. If your idea of a reciprocating saw is ripping through old wood, nails, metal, and ugly jobsite surprises, this one is built for that kind of work.

Heavy-Duty Cutting for Real Demo Work

• 0 to 2,900 strokes per minute for adjustable cutting speed
• 1-1/4 in. stroke length helps move through wood and mixed material faster
