Handles Tough Conditions Built to perform from dry concrete to water-filled and submerged holes. That gives you more flexibility when site conditions are less than ideal and the schedule does not stop for moisture. High-Strength Epoxy The Simpson Strong-Tie SET3G56 epoxy anchoring adhesive is designed for threaded rod and rebar anchoring in cracked and uncracked concrete. Higher bond strength helps support ductile solutions in seismic work. Built for Large Jobs The 56 oz side-by-side cartridge is the right size when you are setting a lot of anchors and do not want to keep stopping for cartridge changes. Just note that the mixing nozzle is not included with this version.

Overview

The Simpson Strong-Tie SET3G56 SET-3G 56 oz. High-Strength Epoxy Adhesive is a two-component epoxy anchoring adhesive for structural anchoring work in concrete and masonry. This is an epoxy anchoring adhesive designed for installing threaded rod or rebar in cracked and uncracked base materials. Model Number SET3G56 comes in a 56 oz side-by-side cartridge and is aimed at contractors, engineers, and crews handling larger anchoring layouts where consistent performance matters more than saving a few bucks on material.

What makes this product matter is where it can be used and how broad the approval envelope is. SET-3G is rated for dry, water-saturated, water-filled, and submerged conditions, and it can be specified for in-service temperatures from -40 degrees Fahrenheit to 176 degrees Fahrenheit. On real work, that means fewer compromises when site conditions are messy, wet, or exposed to temperature swings. It is also recognized per ICC-ES AC308 for post-installed rebar development and splice length design provisions, which is a big deal when the adhesive is part of a structural anchoring plan and not just a general bonding job.

This adhesive uses a 1:1 epoxy mix ratio and cures to a gray color. Simpson Strong-Tie also calls out improved sustained load performance at elevated temperature, which is one of the reasons SET-3G is a go-to option when engineers need high-strength epoxy anchoring adhesive performance without giving up confidence in hotter service environments. For seismic work, the higher bond strengths can help achieve ductile solutions in high seismic areas, and the product is qualified for structures assigned to Seismic Design Categories A through F.

From a jobsite standpoint, SET3G56 is the large-cartridge version meant to keep production moving. Instead of changing smaller cartridges repeatedly, you get a 56 oz side-by-side format that pairs with the Simpson Strong-Tie EDTA56P dispensing tool and EMN22i mixing nozzle. That setup makes sense for repeated anchor installations, overhead or horizontal work, and bigger layouts where downtime adds up fast. Just be aware that this specific cartridge does not include the mixing nozzle, so you need to order the nozzle separately if you do not already have one on the truck.

It is also more flexible than a lot of people realize. SET-3G can be used for downward, horizontal, upwardly inclined, and overhead installations. It is approved for use with multiple vacuum-drill bit systems without further hole cleaning when used per the applicable code report and engineering letter, and it still supports conventional wire-brush hole cleaning methods where required. During installation, Simpson Strong-Tie states there is no performance difference between water-saturated concrete, water-filled holes, or submerged concrete when the correct installation process is followed. That is exactly the kind of detail that matters on repair, retrofit, and exposed-site work.

There are a few practical details worth knowing before you order. Base material temperature must be 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 100 degrees Fahrenheit at installation, and for best results the adhesive should be conditioned to 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. At 70 degrees Fahrenheit, mixed material can harden in the dispensing nozzle within 30 minutes, so you do not want to leave a loaded nozzle sitting around between anchors. Shelf life is 24 months when stored between 45 degrees Fahrenheit and 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and the low-odor formulation is easier to work around than many old-school structural adhesives.

If you are a concrete contractor, anchoring crew, restoration pro, bridge and infrastructure crew, or anyone doing structural fastening with threaded rod anchors or rebar dowels, this is the kind of product you buy for performance first. The Simpson Strong-Tie SET3G56 SET-3G 56 oz. High-Strength Epoxy Adhesive is especially well suited to higher-volume anchoring work where moisture, overhead installs, seismic requirements, or elevated service temperatures would rule out lower-tier adhesive systems.

Built for Wet and Submerged Anchoring

Moisture is where a lot of anchoring products start making excuses. SET-3G is built to keep working in water-saturated, water-filled, and submerged concrete conditions when installed correctly.

• Approved base material conditions include dry, water-saturated, water-filled, and submerged holes
• No performance difference is stated between saturated, water-filled, and submerged concrete when correct installation procedures are followed

Handles Structural Concrete Anchoring Work

This is not a general-purpose glue. It is a structural anchoring epoxy made for threaded rod and rebar installations in cracked and uncracked concrete under a wide range of environmental and loading conditions.

• Recognized per ICC-ES AC308 for post-installed rebar development and splice length design provisions
• Qualified for use in Seismic Design Categories A through F

Faster Flow on Repetitive Anchor Layouts

The 56 oz cartridge size is the practical choice when you have a run of anchors to set and want fewer interruptions. It is built around the EDTA56P dispensing tool for higher-volume anchoring work.

• 56 oz side-by-side cartridge format for larger installation runs
• Compatible with the Simpson Strong-Tie EDTA56P dispensing tool and EMN22i mixing nozzle

What's in the Box

• (1) Simpson Strong-Tie SET3G56 56 oz. side-by-side epoxy adhesive cartridge

Mixing nozzle is not included. Compatible dispensing tool and EMN22i mixing nozzle are sold separately.

Pro Tip

If you are working in cooler conditions, warm the cartridge to about 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 80 degrees Fahrenheit before use. SET-3G flows more predictably that way, and you are less likely to waste time fighting slow dispense or a nozzle that hardens before you finish the run.

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

Simpson Strong-Tie SET3G56 SET-3G 56 oz. High-Strength Epoxy Adhesive for serious anchor work

This is the cartridge you buy when the anchors matter, the conditions are ugly, and you do not want to explain a callback later.

• Who it's for: Concrete contractors, retrofit crews, structural installers, and anyone setting a lot of threaded rod or rebar anchors in real-world conditions.
• Why it stands out: Wet-condition capability, seismic credibility, elevated temperature performance, and a large 56 oz format that makes sense on production work.
• Worth knowing: This version is cartridge only. You need the EDTA56P dispensing tool and the EMN22i mixing nozzle, and the nozzle is not in the box.
