Overview

The Simpson Strong-Tie Quik Drive Cordless PRO300SG2 Decking System is a cordless auto-feed screw driving system built for stand-up deck fastening and other repetitive screw-driving jobs. This is a cordless decking system designed for fast, consistent fastening in deck building, subfloor work, sheathing, and similar production applications. Model Number: PRO300SG2DCXB2K. If you already have compatible battery support in your setup and want a faster way to drive collated screws without dragging a cord, this system is aimed right at you.

What matters most on the job is repeatability, and that is where this setup earns its keep. The self-locking depth adjustment is there to keep screw heads driving to a consistent depth instead of leaving you chasing high screws or overdriving fasteners across a whole deck surface. The decking noseclip helps place the screw in line with the joist, which makes layout easier when you are moving fast and trying to keep rows clean from a standing position.

The included DeWalt cordless driver motor delivers up to 2,000 RPM, giving the system the speed needed for repetitive fastening while keeping the freedom of a cordless tool. For deck crews, remodelers, and contractors working across larger surfaces, that means less setup hassle and less time managing extension cords. The tool is also variable speed and brushless, which lines up with the goal of smoother control and efficient runtime on repeated fastening tasks.

The G3 extension is a big part of why this system makes sense for production work. It is built for stand-up driving, so you can move down a run of deck boards, subfloor panels, or sheathing with less bending and less fatigue. That is not just a comfort feature. On longer jobs, saving your back and keeping your pace steady usually means cleaner work at the end of the day. The tool can also be used without the lightweight extension arm, which adds flexibility when you need to work in tighter areas or at awkward angles.

Simpson Strong-Tie also paid attention to feeding and positioning. The curved collation strips keep screws up and away from the work surface, which helps when you are moving the tool around finished decking or trying to keep the nose area from hanging up as you reposition. The inserted end of the collated strip is pointed to make loading easier, which sounds small until you are reloading over and over on a production deck.

In terms of applications, this system is not limited to deck boards alone. Simpson lists it for decking on decks and docks, subfloor to wood or steel, wall plates, stair treads, sheathing, and fiber-cement siding to steel. That gives it real value for crews that want one collated screw system they can use across multiple fastening jobs instead of pulling out a standard cordless screwdriver for every run.

Compatibility is an important part of the buying decision here. This system is designed to drive Simpson Strong-Tie collated screws in the stated length range, including DSV, DWP, DHPD, DCSD, CBSDQ, WSV, DCU, trim-head Type-17 point, trim-head sharp point, and bugle-head wood screws from 1-3/4 in. to 3 in. It is sold as a tool-only configuration in the sense that the battery and charger are not included, so make sure your setup accounts for that before you put it on the truck.

If you build decks regularly, install subfloors, or handle repetitive fastening where speed and consistency matter, this tool makes a lot of sense. It is especially well suited for deck builders, general contractors, remodeling crews, and serious DIY users tackling larger exterior projects. If your work is occasional and small-scale, a standard screw gun may be enough. If you are fastening board after board and want straighter lines, steadier depth, and less wear on your body, this is the kind of system that pays you back in time saved.

Fast Decking From a Standing Position

This is the real advantage of the system. You can run screws into deck boards while standing upright instead of kneeling over every fastener location.

• Includes the lightweight G3 extension for stand-up driving
• Built around a DeWalt cordless driver motor for jobsite mobility

Keep Fasteners Aligned Over the Joist

The decking noseclip is there for a reason. It helps position the screw on the deck board in alignment with the joist, which makes long runs easier to keep straight and consistent.

• Decking noseclip supports accurate placement from a standing position
• Precise self-locking depth adjustment helps maintain uniform drive depth

Complete Jobsite-Ready System Layout

Even though this is sold without batteries and charger, you still get the core system pieces needed to start setting up for production fastening.

• Curved collation strips are designed to load easily and stay clear of the work surface
