Key Features

Skin-Sensing Safety The SawStop safety system stops the spinning blade on contact with skin in less than 5 milliseconds, then drops it below the table. That matters because a serious mistake can stay a close call instead of turning into a major injury. 3 HP Cabinet Saw Power This professional cabinet saw runs on 220V single-phase power with a 3 horsepower, 13 amp motor. You get the muscle to rip hardwoods and sheet goods without the saw feeling strained. Fence That Stays Square The 30-inch premium fence system is built for smooth travel, precise measurement, and solid lockdown without deflection. That means less time checking the fence and more time making clean, repeatable cuts.

Overview

The SawStop PCS31230-PFA30 10-Inch Professional Cabinet Saw is a stationary cabinet saw built for serious woodworking, furniture work, cabinetry, and shop-based production cutting. This is a cabinet saw designed for accurate ripping, crosscutting, and dado work in a dedicated workshop. Model Number: PCS31230-PFA30. With a 220V single-phase, 3 horsepower, 13 amp motor and a 30-inch premium fence system, it is aimed at woodworkers who want real cabinet saw performance with SawStop's skin-sensing safety system built into the machine.

The headline feature is still the SawStop safety system, and that is not just a marketing add-on. The blade stops on contact with skin in less than 5 milliseconds and drops below the table. For schools, pro shops, and anyone who spends long hours at the table saw, that is a practical reason to step up into this platform. The control box constantly checks system status, and the saw combines the on-off switch, power paddle, and onboard monitoring in one setup that is built around day-to-day use rather than occasional hobby use.

Power is only useful if it is controlled well, and this saw is set up to do that. The 3 horsepower motor gives you the extra push needed for ripping thick hardwood, handling plywood, and keeping feed rates steady through common shop materials. SawStop also backs that power with a trunnion and arbor built for precision, strength, and stability. In plain terms, that means the saw is built to stay accurate under load, not just look good on the spec sheet.

The fence system is a big part of why this model matters. The 30-inch premium fence assembly is designed for smooth operation, precise measurement, and sure lockdown without deflection. If you do repeat rip cuts, break down sheet goods, or build cabinets where a small error compounds fast, a fence that locks square and stays there saves time and frustration. SawStop also calls out table flatness measured diagonally at a maximum 0.010-inch gap, which is the kind of detail that matters when you are chasing clean glue joints and predictable setup.

Build quality is what usually separates a real cabinet saw from lighter-duty options, and the PCS31230-PFA30 is built around cast iron where it counts. The cast iron arbor block, table, and wings add mass and stability, which helps the saw run smoother and stay planted during long ripping sessions. The gas piston elevation system is another practical touch. Instead of fighting the height adjustment, you get smoother blade elevation changes, which makes setup less of a chore when you are switching operations.

Dust handling is better thought out than what you get on a lot of table saws. This saw uses advanced shrouding below the table, includes a dust collection blade guard for the 3 horsepower model, and routes collection through a 4-inch dust port. SawStop states up to 99% dust collection above and below the table with the dust collection blade guard in use. If you want to build out the system further, the available overarm dust collection accessory, model TSA-ODC, routes dust away from the blade and into the same collection path.

From a setup standpoint, this is a 220 volt single-phase shop machine, not a jobsite saw. It weighs roughly 390 pounds net and about 400 pounds assembled, with a 44-inch by 29.75-inch table footprint and a 34-inch table height. That weight and size are part of the point. You are buying mass, stability, and a platform that is meant to live in the shop and deliver cabinet saw accuracy over the long haul.

The SawStop PCS31230-PFA30 10-Inch Professional Cabinet Saw makes the most sense for cabinetmakers, furniture builders, trim carpenters with a dedicated shop, school programs, and serious DIY woodworkers who are done compromising with lighter saws. If you want a saw that combines professional-level cut quality, a solid 30-inch fence, dado capacity up to 8 inches, and one of the most talked-about safety systems in woodworking, this is a very strong fit.

Built for Safer Daily Use

This is the kind of table saw that is meant to be used often, not babied. SawStop built the PCS31230-PFA30 around a safety system that actively monitors operation while still giving you full cabinet saw performance.

• Blade stops on contact with skin in less than 5 milliseconds
• Blade drops below the table after activation to reduce injury severity
• Control box combines the power switch, paddle, and onboard system checks

Fence Accuracy You Can Trust

A good cabinet saw lives or dies by the fence. The 30-inch premium fence system on this model is built for smooth travel and firm lockdown, which is exactly what you need for repeat rip cuts, sheet goods, and fine layout work.

• 30-inch premium fence assembly for precise measurement
• Heavy-gauge steel fence and rail design for solid lockdown
• Built to stay square without deflection during repeated use

Heavy Cabinet Saw Construction

At around 400 pounds assembled, this saw gets its stability from real cabinet saw construction. The cast iron table, wings, and arbor block help the saw stay planted and smooth when the material gets heavy or the workday gets long.

• Cast iron arbor block, table, and wings add mass and rigidity
• Gas piston elevation helps with smooth blade height changes
• Stationary design is built for dedicated shop use

Dust Control That Works

Dust collection is not an afterthought here. Between the included dust collection blade guard on the 3 horsepower model, blade shrouding below the table, and the 4-inch dust port, this saw is designed to keep the cut line and the shop cleaner.

• SawStop states up to 99% dust collection above and below the table with the dust collection blade guard
• 4-inch dust port connects to standard shop dust collection setups
• Optional TSA-ODC overarm dust collection is available separately
