Key Features

Skin-Sensing SafetySawStop's patented safety system stops the spinning blade on contact with skin and drops it below the table in less than 5 milliseconds. That matters because one bad reach does not have to become a life-changing injury. 52 Inch Fence ControlThe 52 inch T-Glide Advance fence uses heavy-gauge steel for smooth travel, reliable squareness, and solid lockdown. You get the capacity for sheet goods and the repeatability needed for furniture and cabinet work. 3 Horsepower Cabinet SawThis SawStop cabinet saw runs a 3 horsepower, 230 volt single-phase motor built to rip most materials you are likely to feed it. That gives you the power reserve a jobsite saw just cannot match.

Overview

The Sawstop PCS31230-ATGP52 Professional 3HP Cabinet Saw with 52 inch Professional T-Glide Advance Rip Fence, Rails & Extension Table is a full-size cabinet table saw built for serious woodworking, production ripping, and clean repeatable cuts. This is a table saw designed for precision ripping, crosscutting, and cabinet-grade woodworking. Model number PCS31230-ATGP52. If you want the mass, fence capacity, and cut quality of a true cabinet saw, but you also want SawStop's skin-sensing brake system backing you up, this is the package a lot of shops land on for good reason.

The big story here is not just horsepower. The 3 horsepower, 1-phase, 230 volt motor gives this machine the muscle to rip hardwoods, sheet goods, and thick stock without feeling like the saw is being asked to do too much. SawStop rates max depth of cut at 3-1/8 inches at 0 degrees and 2-1/4 inches at 45 degrees with a 10 inch blade, which covers the kind of work a cabinet saw is bought for in the first place. Left tilt helps keep the cutoff from getting trapped between the blade and fence in common fence-right setups, which is a practical detail woodworkers appreciate once they have spent time around different saw layouts.

The other major selling point is the 52 inch T-Glide Advance fence system. A lot of buyers focus on rip capacity alone, but the real value is how the fence moves, reads, and locks down. SawStop builds the fence and rail system from heavy-gauge steel for smooth operation and long-term rigidity, then adds a multi-function aluminum fence face with three operating positions: high, low, and L-fence. That gives you more flexibility for narrow rips, jigs, and specialty setups without turning the saw into a project every time you change tasks. The two magnifying indicators are there for a reason too. They make the measurement scale easier to read accurately in both fence positions, which saves setup time and helps with repeat work.

This saw is built like a cabinet saw should be. The trunnion and arbor are designed for precision, strength, and stability, and SawStop calls out a maximum allowable arbor runout of 0.001 inch. Table flatness is measured diagonally with a maximum gap of 0.010 inch, and blade alignment with the miter slot is also held to a maximum displacement of 0.010 inch. Those are the kinds of details that matter when you are chasing clean glue joints, accurate joinery, and predictable results instead of compensating for a machine that is always a little off. The gas piston elevation system also makes height adjustment smoother and easier than the clunky feel many users are used to on heavier saws.

Dust collection is another area where this SawStop cabinet saw earns its keep. Below the table, the saw uses advanced shrouding around the blade to improve dust capture, and the main cabinet connects to a 4 inch dust collection port. On 3 horsepower configurations, the dust collection blade guard is included and handles collection above the table. SawStop states up to 99% dust collection with the included blade guard above the blade and the shrouded collection below. In a real shop, that means less dust thrown back at the operator, less cleanup on the table surface, and better visibility at the cut line.

From a safety and reliability standpoint, this is where SawStop separates itself from the rest of the cabinet saw field. The patented safety system stops the blade on contact with skin in less than 5 milliseconds and drops it below the table. The control box houses the on-off switch, power paddle, and onboard computer, and the system is constantly checking itself so the saw is ready when you need it. That does not replace smart setup and safe feeding habits, but it absolutely changes the conversation for schools, shared shops, professional furniture makers, and anyone who makes their living with their hands.

Accessory and system compatibility are straightforward. The saw uses a 5/8 inch arbor with a standard 10 inch blade, and it can run an 8 inch dado set up to 29/32 inch wide when paired with the required dado brake cartridge and insert. The included package also gives you the rails, extension table, cast iron wings, miter gauge, riving knife, blade guard, blade, insert, standard brake cartridge, and setup tools, so this is not a stripped-down bare machine. You are getting a real shop saw package, not just a saw body with a fence tossed in.

Who should buy it? Woodworkers, cabinetmakers, finish carpenters building out a dedicated shop, school programs, and serious remodelers who need cabinet saw accuracy and capacity. If your work regularly involves full-width plywood rips, repeatable hardwood cuts, and joinery where accuracy matters, the Sawstop PCS31230-ATGP52 Professional 3HP Cabinet Saw with 52 inch Professional T-Glide Advance Rip Fence, Rails & Extension Table is built for exactly that kind of workload. If you only break down a few boards a month, it is more saw than you need. If the table saw is a core machine in your shop, this is the kind of upgrade you feel every day.

Clean, Controlled Cutting at the Blade

This is the kind of saw setup that helps you work accurately without fighting the machine. The included blade guard and riving knife support safer, more predictable ripping while the cabinet-saw platform stays planted under load.

• 10 inch blade with 3-1/8 inch max depth of cut at 0 degrees
• Left-tilt blade design helps in common fence-right ripping setups
• Riving knife thickness is 0.090 inch for controlled through-cuts

Adjustments That Feel Like a Real Cabinet Saw

Good fence systems get the headlines, but smooth blade-height adjustment is what you notice every single day. SawStop uses gas piston elevation and large cast iron hand wheels so setup changes feel controlled instead of stiff and sloppy.

• 7 inch cast iron hand wheels with chrome handles
• Gas piston elevation supports smooth height changes
• Trunnion and arbor are built for strength, stability, and precision

Full-Size Rip Capacity for Shop Work

The 52 inch T-Glide Advance setup is what makes this saw practical for sheet goods, wide panels, and repeat fence work. It is built for a dedicated shop where capacity and consistency matter more than portability.

• 52 inch max rip capacity to the right of the blade
• 12 inch max rip capacity to the left of the blade
• Assembled dimensions with 52 inch system: 85-1/4 inches wide x 33 inches deep x 34 inches high

Why the Sawstop PCS31230-ATGP52 Professional 3HP Cabinet Saw earns shop space

This is the cabinet saw a lot of serious woodworkers buy when they want real accuracy, full rip capacity, and the extra margin of safety that nobody else in the category offers the same way.

• Who it's for: Woodworkers, cabinet shops, schools, and committed home shops that use a table saw as a primary machine, not an occasional helper.
• Why it stands out: The skin-sensing brake system gets the attention, but the 52 inch T-Glide Advance fence, solid cabinet-saw construction, and 3 horsepower motor are what make it worth using every day.
• Worth knowing: This is a 230 volt, single-phase shop saw, not a plug-it-anywhere portable. It also requires the proper brake cartridge and insert if you want to run a dado stack.

Common Questions

• Is this a 120 volt or 230 volt saw? This model is configured for 230 volt, single-phase power.
• What is the rip capacity to the right of the blade? The included T-Glide Advance fence system gives you 52 inches of rip capacity to the right of the blade.
• Can it use a dado set? Yes. It accepts up to an 8 inch dado set with a maximum width of 29/32 inch, but it requires the proper dado brake cartridge and insert.
• Does it include dust collection at the blade? Yes. The package includes a dust collection blade guard, and the saw also uses a 4 inch main dust port below the table.
