Stops on Contact With Skin The SawStop safety system stops the blade in less than 5 milliseconds and drops it below the table, helping prevent life-altering injuries. Cabinet Saw Precision This 10" cabinet saw holds arbor runout to 0.001" and table flatness to 0.010", so rips come off square and glue-ready. Runs on a 120V Circuit The 1.75 HP, 14 amp motor plugs into standard 120V shop power, with a 220V conversion kit available if you rewire later.

Overview

The SawStop PCS175-TGP236 110V Single Phase 1.75-HP 14-Amp 10" Professional Cabinet Saw with 36" Professional Series T-Glide Fence System is a full cabinet table saw for furniture makers, cabinet shops, schools, and serious home woodworkers. This is a 10" cabinet saw designed for precise ripping, crosscutting, and joinery in solid wood and sheet goods, with SawStop's blade-stopping safety system built in. SawStop calls the Professional Cabinet Saw its most popular saw, and Model Number PCS175-TGP236 pairs the 1.75 HP saw with the 36" Professional T-Glide fence, rails, and extension table.

The fence is where you feel the difference every day. The 36" T-Glide fence and rails are heavy-gauge steel, built for smooth travel, accurate measurement, and a sure lockdown that stays square without deflection for years. The system is made up of the SawStop TGP2-FA T-Glide Professional fence assembly, the 36" rail assembly, and the SawStop TGP2-T36A 36" extension table, giving you up to 36-1/2" of rip capacity to the right of the blade and 12-1/2" to the left.

Cutting capacity covers the work most shops do. With a 10" blade on a 5/8" arbor, the saw cuts 3-1/8" deep at 90 degrees and 2-1/4" deep at 45 degrees, and the blade tilts left. It also accepts an 8" dado stack up to 29/32" wide, using the dado brake cartridge and a dado insert. A 40-tooth professional-grade blade comes installed, so it is ready for general ripping and crosscutting out of the crate.

The PCS175 runs a 1.75 HP, 14 amp TEFC motor on 120V single-phase power, which means most garages and small shops can run it without adding a 240V circuit. If you rewire later, the motor can be user-configured to 220V with an optional kit. Shops that already have 240V and cut a lot of thick hardwood should look at the 3 HP SawStop PCS31230-TGP236 instead.

The build quality is what separates a cabinet saw from a contractor saw. The trunnion and arbor are built for precision, strength, and stability. SawStop holds arbor runout to 0.001" maximum, table flatness to 0.010" measured diagonally, and blade-to-miter-slot alignment to 0.010". The cast iron top measures 44" x 27" with its two cast iron wings, the T-shaped miter slots accept common jigs and sleds, and a gas piston elevation system makes raising and lowering the blade smooth and easy with the 7" cast iron hand wheels.

The safety system is the reason most people buy a SawStop. The blade carries a small electrical signal. When skin touches the blade, the signal changes because the human body is conductive, and the system fires an aluminum brake into the spinning blade. The blade stops in less than 5 milliseconds, its momentum drives it below the table, and power to the motor shuts off. The saw ships with a standard SawStop TSBC-10R3 brake cartridge installed, and dado work calls for the SawStop TSDC-8R3 dado brake cartridge.

Resetting after an activation is straightforward: replace the blade and the brake cartridge and you are back to work, a process SawStop puts at under 5 minutes. A control box houses the on-off switch, the large power paddle, and an on-board computer that constantly checks that every system is working before the saw will run.

Dust control is handled below and above the table. Below, advanced shrouding around the blade feeds a 4" dust port. Above, the optional SawStop TSG-DC dust collection blade guard brings collection to 99%, and the SawStop TSA-ODC overarm dust collection routes chips away from the blade. Pair the 4" port with one of the shop dust collectors sized for a cabinet saw.

Who should buy it? Woodworkers stepping up from a jobsite or contractor saw who want cabinet-saw accuracy and mass without rewiring the shop, professional cabinet and furniture shops running on 120V, and schools or makerspaces where the safety system protects less experienced users. If you run a table saw, the PCS175-TGP236 is about as good an insurance policy as a shop can buy.

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

The SawStop PCS175-TGP236 Is the Cabinet Saw for 120V Shops

Real cabinet-saw accuracy, a fence you can trust, and SawStop's blade-stopping safety system, all on a standard 120V circuit.

• Who it's for: Furniture and cabinet makers, schools, and serious hobbyists who want a lifetime saw without rewiring for 240V.
• Why it stands out: Blade stop in under 5 milliseconds, 0.001" arbor runout, and a heavy-gauge steel T-Glide fence with 36-1/2" of rip capacity.
• Worth knowing: At 408 lbs assembled, it is not moving without help. Plan on a mobile base such as the SawStop MB-PCS-000 Professional Saw Mobile Base if the saw needs to roll, and budget for the dado brake cartridge if you cut dadoes.

Common Questions

• Can I run this saw on a standard household outlet? The PCS175 runs on 120V single-phase power at 14 amps. A dedicated circuit is the safe choice for a motor that size.
• What happens when the safety system activates? The blade stops in less than 5 milliseconds, drops below the table, and the motor shuts off. Replace the brake cartridge and blade to reset.
• Can I use a dado stack? Yes. It accepts 8" dado stacks up to 29/32" wide with the dado brake cartridge and a dado insert.
• How much rip capacity does it have? 36-1/2" to the right of the blade and 12-1/2" to the left.
