Key Features

Stops on Contact with Skin The SawStop safety system detects skin contact and stops the blade in less than 5 milliseconds, then drops it below the table. No other cabinet saw feature matters more. 5 HP Three-Phase Power A 5 HP, 230V three-phase motor drives this industrial cabinet saw through thick hardwood and production rip work without bogging down. 52-1/2" Rip Capacity The 52" Industrial T-Glide fence system rips to 52-1/2" right of the blade, enough to break down full sheet goods on the saw.

Overview

The SawStop ICS53230-52 230V Three Phase 5-HP Industrial Cabinet Saw with 52" T-Glide Fence System is a 10" industrial table saw for cabinet shops, furniture makers, millwork shops, schools, and production environments. This is a cabinet saw designed for heavy-duty ripping, crosscutting, and dado work in shops with three-phase power, with SawStop's skin-detecting blade brake built in. Model Number ICS53230-52 pairs the ICS53230 saw with the 52" Industrial T-Glide fence, rails, and extension table.

SawStop's safety system is the reason most shops buy this saw. The blade carries a small electrical signal, and when skin touches it, the signal changes because the human body is conductive. An aluminum brake springs into the blade and stops it in less than 5 milliseconds, the blade's momentum drives it below the table, and motor power shuts off. Resetting takes less than five minutes: replace the blade and the TSBC-10R3 brake cartridge and you are back to work.

The Industrial Cabinet Saw is SawStop's heaviest and most powerful 10" saw, at approximately 685 lbs assembled with the 52" fence. That mass is mostly cast iron and steel, and it soaks up vibration so cuts stay smooth and the saw stays put. Inside, the heavy trunnion has true vertical travel with gas-piston assist for easy blade height adjustment, the arbor is among the thickest on any 10" saw, and poly V-ribbed belts transfer power with minimal vibration. Open gearing resists dust packing, which keeps adjustments smooth in a busy shop.

The cast iron table measures 24" W x 30" D, and the two included cast iron wings bring it to 44" W. The 52" extension table adds another 40" W x 30" D of support to the right of the blade. Blade tilt is to the left, maximum depth of cut is 3-1/8" at 90 degrees and 2-1/4" at 45 degrees, and the saw accepts 8" dado stacks up to 29/32" wide with the dado brake cartridge and insert.

The TGI2-FA Industrial T-Glide rip fence is a heavy-gauge steel T-square fence that glides smoothly, measures precisely, and locks down without deflection. It rips 52-1/2" to the right of the blade and 12-1/2" to the left, so you can break down full sheets of plywood and MDF without a panel saw.

Dust collection is handled above and below the table. The included polycarbonate dust collection blade guard pulls chips off the top of the cut, and shrouding around the blade feeds a 4" port below. SawStop rates the cabinet saw design for 99% dust extraction by shaping the turbulence the blade creates. For shared and school shops, the integrated Lock-Out Tag-Out switch ensures only authorized operators can run the saw, and interlocked motor access doors block operation if they are left unlatched.

Who should buy it? Professional cabinet shops, furniture and millwork builders, schools, and serious woodworkers who already have 230V three-phase power and want the safety of a SawStop in its most heavy-duty form. If your shop is single-phase, look at the single-phase Industrial models instead. Shops that need to reposition the saw can add the MB-IND-000 Industrial Saw mobile base.

Safety You Can Reset in Minutes

An accident on a conventional table saw can end a career. On a SawStop, it usually costs a blade and a brake cartridge.

• Detects skin contact through a signal carried on the blade
• Brake stops the blade in less than 5 milliseconds and drops it below the table
• Reset in under five minutes with a new blade and cartridge
• Standard brake cartridge included

Built Heavy on Purpose

Weight and rigidity are what keep a cabinet saw accurate year after year. SawStop built the Industrial Cabinet Saw around more cast iron and steel than any of its other saws.

• Approximately 685 lbs assembled with the 52" fence system
• Heavy trunnion with true vertical travel and gas-piston assist
• 5/8" arbor at the blade with 0.001" maximum allowable runout
• Poly V-ribbed belt drive for smooth, quiet power transfer

A Fence That Locks and Stays Locked

The Industrial T-Glide fence is a familiar T-square design built in heavy-gauge steel, with the reach to handle full sheet goods.

• 52-1/2" rip capacity right of the blade, 12-1/2" left
• Smooth glide with sure lockdown and no deflection
• 40" W x 30" D extension table supports wide panels

Common Questions

• Can I run this saw on single-phase power? No. The ICS53230 is a 230V three-phase saw.
• What happens when the brake activates? The blade stops in less than 5 milliseconds, retracts below the table, and motor power shuts off. Replace the blade and brake cartridge to reset.
• Can I run a dado stack? Yes, 8" dado sets up to 29/32" wide with the dado brake cartridge and dado insert, sold separately.
• How far can it rip? 52-1/2" to the right of the blade and 12-1/2" to the left.
