Key Features

Fine Finish Control The 800 grit cut is built for fine sanding and surface prep where scratch pattern matters. It is a good fit when you are refining a surface instead of trying to remove a lot of material fast. 121-Hole Pattern The 121-hole layout supports dust extraction on compatible sanders and pads. Better dust flow helps keep the disc cutting clean and reduces loading during finish work. 50-Disc Box A full box of 50 Mirka sanding discs makes sense for shops and repeat work. You can stay on the same grit through a job without piecing together mixed packs.

Overview

The Mirka Iridium 6 in Grip 121H 800 Hook & Loop Sanding Disc, model 24-6MH-800, is a fine-grit sanding abrasive built for finish sanding and surface refinement. This is a hook and loop sanding disc designed for fine sanding on compatible 6 inch sanders. If you are working through the last stages before paint, clear, or final finish, this grit range is where consistency matters more than brute removal.

What makes this disc matter is the combination of a 6 inch size, grip backing, and 121-hole pattern. The 6 inch format fits a common sander size used in shops and on jobsites, while the hook and loop style makes disc changes quick when you are moving through grit steps. The multi-hole layout is there for a reason: when paired with the right pad and extraction setup, it helps move dust away from the work surface so the abrasive can keep cutting instead of skating over packed debris.

The 800 grit rating puts this Mirka abrasive firmly in the fine-finish category. That means it is not the disc you grab for stripping heavy material or leveling rough stock. It is the one you reach for when the surface is already close and you need to clean up the scratch pattern, blend sanding marks, or prep for the next coating step. On finish work, the difference between an average disc and a consistent disc shows up fast in how even the surface looks and how little rework you need later.

Mirka positions the Iridium line as a premium abrasive option, and the practical benefit is simple: cleaner sanding, easier disc swaps, and a format that fits modern dust-aware sanding setups. The grip backing keeps installation straightforward, and the 121-hole configuration is aimed at users who care about dust collection and surface quality, not just getting material off fast.

This product is sold as a 50-disc box, which is the right format for production work, body shops, cabinet shops, and serious DIY users who already know they will burn through abrasives in a controlled finishing process. Buying by the box also keeps your workflow consistent because you are staying with the same diameter, hole pattern, and grit from start to finish.

If you use a compatible 6 inch hook and loop sander and need a fine sanding disc for finish prep, the Mirka Iridium 6 in Grip 121H 800 Hook & Loop Sanding Disc is the kind of consumable that earns its keep. It is best for users who value dust extraction, repeatable finish quality, and the convenience of a boxed quantity over bargain-bin discs that vary from sheet to sheet.

Built for Cleaner Fine Sanding

Fine finishing goes better when dust has somewhere to go. The 121-hole pattern is built to support dust extraction on compatible sanding setups, which helps the abrasive stay cleaner and keeps the work surface from getting loaded up.

• 6 inch disc size fits common random orbital and finish sanding platforms that use this diameter
• 121-hole layout is aimed at improved airflow and cleaner sanding conditions

Stock Up on the Grit You Actually Use

A 50-disc box makes more sense than chasing individual packs when you are doing repeat finish work. It keeps the right grit on hand for the final passes where a consistent scratch pattern matters most.

• Box quantity: 50 discs
• 800 grit is suited to fine sanding, surface prep, and finish-stage refinement

Key Specifications

Compatibility

Sander Size Designed for 6 inch sanding setups that accept this disc diameter. Hole Pattern Best matched with pads and dust extraction systems designed around a 121-hole abrasive pattern. Backing Interface Grip backing fits hook and loop sanding pads.

Pro Tip

On fine 800 grit work, a clean pad matters almost as much as the disc. If the holes in the pad are packed with dust, you lose extraction and the disc can load up faster, which is exactly what you do not want on finish passes.
