Key Features

5-Inch Disc Size Built for 5-inch sanders and backing pads, so it fits one of the most common sanding formats on the job and in the shop. 150 Grit Cut The 150 grit abrasive lands in a useful middle range for smoothing surfaces, blending scratches, and moving toward finish-ready prep without jumping too fine too soon. 89-Hole Dust Pattern The 89-hole layout is made for sanders and pads that use broad dust extraction coverage, helping keep abrasive loading down and the work surface cleaner while you sand.

Overview

The Mirka Iridium 5 Grip 89H 150 sanding disc, model 24-5MH-150, is a 5-inch hook and loop sanding disc sold in a 50-pack for repeat sanding work where fast disc changes and consistent finish quality matter. This is a hook and loop sanding disc designed for surface sanding and finish prep. If you run a compatible random orbit sander or finishing sander, this disc format gives you a practical balance of coverage, control, and quick swap convenience.

The 150 grit rating makes this Mirka abrasive a smart choice for general sanding steps where you need to refine a surface, clean up previous scratch patterns, or prep material for the next stage. It is fine enough for controlled smoothing, but still aggressive enough to stay productive when you are not ready to move into final polishing grits. For contractors, refinishers, and serious shop users, that means fewer wasted steps and better control over the finish you are building.

The 5-inch diameter is the standard a lot of users already work with, which makes this size easy to drop into existing sanding setups. The Grip backing is built for hook and loop attachment, so disc changes stay fast when you are moving between grits or replacing a loaded disc mid-job. That matters on production sanding, prep work, and any job where stopping to fuss with adhesive-backed paper slows you down.

The 89-hole pattern is one of the details that matters more than it sounds. When your backing pad matches the hole layout, dust extraction can work across more of the disc surface instead of only at a few points. In real use, that helps reduce loading, keeps the abrasive cutting more consistently, and can leave a cleaner surface behind. On fine prep work, better dust pull also means less loose debris trapped between the disc and the workpiece.

This Mirka 150 grit sanding disc is best for users who already know they need a 5-inch, 89-hole hook and loop format. If your sander or pad matches that pattern, this is the kind of consumable that makes sense for steady shop use, finishing departments, and anyone who would rather buy the right disc in a 50-pack than run short halfway through a project.
