Overview

The Milwaukee M12 FUEL 1/4" Extended Reach Ratchet, Model 3058-20, is a cordless ratchet built for mechanics, maintenance techs, and anyone who spends real time working around tight fasteners. This is a cordless ratchet designed for fastening and removing nuts and bolts in tight, hard-to-reach spaces. If you work in engine bays, under dashboards, around equipment housings, or inside cramped assemblies, the whole point here is simple: more reach without giving up speed, comfort, or control.

Milwaukee gives this ratchet up to 550 RPM and 45 ft-lbs of max torque, which matters because a lot of ratchet work is repetitive and time-sensitive. Higher speed helps you run fasteners down quicker once they are loose, while the torque gives you a better shot at breaking stubborn hardware free without stopping to grab a hand tool right away. The 1/4 inch ball detent anvil keeps sockets secure, and the raised forward and reverse shuttle makes direction changes easier when your hands are oily or wedged into a tight spot.

Where this model separates itself is the combination of extended reach and a compact head and body. That is not just a line item on a spec sheet. On the job, it means better access behind brackets, around hoses, and down inside assemblies where a bulkier cordless ratchet can get blocked before the socket ever reaches the fastener. Milwaukee also uses a POWERSTATE brushless outer rotor motor, which helps deliver the speed and torque this tool is built around while keeping the package compact.

Comfort is a big part of why tools like this earn a spot in a mechanic's drawer, and Milwaukee clearly paid attention there. The contoured grip is built to reduce hand fatigue during long stretches of wrenching, and the modular trigger setup lets you choose the grip point that feels right for how you work. The included modular paddle cap gives you another control option instead of forcing you into one trigger layout. That is the kind of detail that actually matters when you use a ratchet every day, not once a month.

Jobsite and shop practicality are covered well too. The targeted LED light helps when you are working in dim engine compartments or under equipment, and the integrated grease port supports self-lubrication for easier maintenance. Milwaukee also uses a metal reinforced housing for better durability and REDLINK PLUS intelligence to help protect the tool and battery from overload and overheating. Those are useful real-world features for a cordless ratchet that is going to see repeated use in dirty, cramped, high-frustration work areas.

This ratchet runs on the Milwaukee M12 battery system, which is a major selling point if you already own M12 batteries and chargers. It is a bare tool, so batteries and charger are not included, but it drops into a platform with more than 150 tools. For existing Milwaukee users, that keeps cost down and makes this a smart addition to an established kit. For new users, it gives you an easy entry into a compact 12V lineup that is especially strong for automotive, service, and installation work.

The best fit for the Milwaukee M12 FUEL 1/4" Extended Reach Ratchet is the user who wants more access and more speed than a manual ratchet can offer, without stepping up to a larger, bulkier cordless solution. It makes the most sense for automotive technicians, fleet maintenance crews, industrial service techs, HVAC installers, and serious DIY users who regularly work on machinery or vehicles. If your work happens in open space on large fasteners, you may want a bigger tool. If your work happens where your hands barely fit, this is exactly the kind of ratchet you buy to save time and aggravation.

Reach Into Tight Spaces With Less Fighting

The long neck and compact head are the real story here. This setup helps you get the socket onto fasteners buried behind components, instead of stopping short because the tool body is too bulky.

• Extended reach design improves access in deep or obstructed work areas
• Compact head and body size help the ratchet fit where larger cordless ratchets struggle
• 1/4 inch ball detent anvil keeps sockets held in place during repeated fastening work

Built for Speed, Comfort, and Daily Use

A fast cordless ratchet only helps if it is comfortable enough to use all day. Milwaukee adds a contoured grip, modular trigger configuration, LED lighting, and reinforced housing so the tool stays useful in real shop conditions, not just on paper.

• Up to 550 RPM helps speed up repetitive nut and bolt removal and installation
• Up to 45 ft-lbs of torque gives it solid breakaway performance for stubborn fasteners
• Contoured grip, modular paddle cap, LED work light, and grease port improve day-to-day usability
