Overview

The Milwaukee 7/8 in. ZoomLock MAX Press Jaw for M12 FORCE LOGIC Press Tools is a dedicated press jaw accessory for HVAC and refrigeration installers working with ZoomLock MAX refrigerant press fittings. This is a press jaw designed for pressing 7/8 inch ZoomLock MAX fittings on ACR copper tube and line set using compatible Milwaukee M12 FORCE LOGIC press tools. Model Number: 49-16-2456Z. If you want a flame-free alternative to brazing that speeds up installs and cuts down on setup, this is the attachment that makes the M12 press platform useful for that specific job.

What matters here is application fit. This jaw is built around 7/8 inch OD ACR-MAX copper work and is specifically listed as compatible with ZoomLock MAX press fittings. That keeps the setup straightforward for refrigeration and high-pressure HVAC installs where fitting compatibility is not something you want to guess at. Milwaukee also calls out up to 60% faster installations versus brazing, which is a real benefit on service calls, retrofits, and occupied spaces where saving time is only part of the equation. You also avoid nitrogen purges, combustible gases, and silver solder requirements tied to traditional brazed connections.

The design is focused on access and handling. Milwaukee uses an in-line jaw layout and an easy-open, spring-loaded mechanism to make alignment easier on the fitting. In practical terms, that means less fighting the tool when you are working near coils, condensers, or tight line set runs. The one-handed operation callout matters because small press tools are often chosen for cramped mechanical rooms and overhead work where body position is awkward and every extra motion slows you down.

Build quality is also part of the story. The jaw uses forged steel and Milwaukee specifically highlights the durable steel jaw construction for long service life. For an accessory like this, material quality matters because repeated pressing loads are concentrated right at the jaw. This is not a generic attachment meant to cover a dozen pipe systems. It is a purpose-built pressing solution for a defined fitting standard and pipe material, which is exactly what you want when connection quality is the whole job.

On the system side, this accessory is made for the Milwaukee M12 FORCE LOGIC Press Tool platform, including the M12 FORCE LOGIC Press Tool family listed by Milwaukee. That makes it a good fit for users who already own the compact M12 press tool and want to expand into ZoomLock MAX refrigerant pressing without stepping up to a larger setup. The jaw itself is a non-kit, single-piece accessory, so you are buying the pressing head only, not a complete press tool package.

This product makes the most sense for HVAC technicians, refrigeration installers, service contractors, and mechanical pros who are already working with ZoomLock MAX fittings and ACR copper. It is also a strong fit for contractors trying to reduce open-flame work on occupied jobsites, finished spaces, and locations where permits, fire watch, or heat-sensitive surroundings complicate brazing. If you do not own a compatible M12 FORCE LOGIC press tool, this jaw is not your starting point. If you do, it is the specific accessory that turns that tool into a faster, cleaner solution for 7/8 inch refrigerant line connections.
