Key Features

Big Bite, Better Hold The OVERBITE jaw gives this pipe wrench a larger gripping surface, which helps it bite pipe and fittings harder with less slipping when you are breaking loose stubborn connections. Aluminum Pipe Wrench Build The aluminum handle keeps weight down compared to a comparable steel pipe wrench, which matters when the tool lives in your bag or gets used overhead and in tight mechanical rooms. Made for Real Use Through-hardened jaws, dual coil springs, an ergonomic handle shape, and a tether-ready loop all add up to a hand tool that is built for daily jobsite work, not occasional drawer duty.

Overview

The Milwaukee 48-22-7210 10" Aluminum Pipe Wrench is a compact straight pipe wrench built for plumbers, maintenance techs, HVAC mechanics, and anyone working on pipe in tighter spaces. This is a straight aluminum pipe wrench designed for gripping and turning pipe and threaded fittings. Model Number: 48-22-7210. If you want the control of a 10-inch wrench without carrying the extra weight of steel, this is the size a lot of pros keep close by for service work and smaller diameter pipe.

The big selling point here is Milwaukee's OVERBITE jaw design. In plain terms, you get more contact on the workpiece, which helps the wrench grab harder and hang on better when you are trying to move fittings that do not want to move. Jaw capacity is up to 1-1/2 inches, so it covers a lot of common pipe and fitting work in residential and light commercial service. The serrated jaw texture is there for bite, and the manual groove-style adjustment gives you the familiar feel pipe wrench users expect.

The aluminum handle matters more than it sounds like on paper. At about 1.525 lbs, this wrench is easier to carry all day, easier to reach with in awkward positions, and less fatiguing when you are making repeated adjustments. That makes a real difference in crawlspaces, under sinks, above ceilings, and around equipment where you are already working one-handed or from an off-balance position. It is still a serious hand tool, just not a boat anchor.

Milwaukee also put real attention into the parts that usually wear out first on a pipe wrench. The through-hardened jaws are built for longer tooth life and a more reliable grip over time. The dual coil springs are there for durability and smoother jaw action. Add in the ergonomic handle form, and the wrench sits better in the hand instead of digging into your palm when you are leaning on it. The ergonomic hook jaw design also helps with easier detachment from the workpiece once the turn is done.

Jobsite practicality is another strong point. The tether-ready handle loop is useful for techs and tradespeople working from lifts, ladders, mezzanines, or any location where dropping a hand tool is a problem. The overall 10-inch length makes it a smart fit for service bags and compact tool storage, while the alloy steel jaw section gives you the wear resistance you need at the business end of the tool.

This Milwaukee pipe wrench is best for users who want a lighter straight pipe wrench for everyday service work, repair work, and general pipe handling without stepping up to a larger wrench. If you mainly work on small to medium pipe sizes and want something easier to carry than steel, this one makes sense. If you regularly work near the top of the capacity range or on larger, heavily seized pipe, you may want to size up within Milwaukee's aluminum pipe wrench line.

More Grip Where It Counts

This is the kind of feature that matters the first time you put real pressure on a stubborn fitting. The jaw geometry is built to maximize contact, which helps the wrench stay planted when you are trying to break something free instead of rounding over and fighting the tool.

• OVERBITE jaw design provides Milwaukee's largest gripping surface
• Through-hardened jaws improve grip durability and tooth life
• Serrated jaw texture helps bite into pipe and fittings

Light Enough for Daily Carry

A 10-inch aluminum pipe wrench earns its keep by being easy to bring along and easy to use in cramped spots. That is why this size works so well for service techs and plumbers who need a real pipe wrench, just not the extra bulk.

• Aluminum handle keeps weight to about 1.525 lbs
• 10-inch overall length fits compact bags and tight work areas
• Ergonomic handle shape is designed not to dig into the palm

Pro Tip

On a 10-inch pipe wrench, proper jaw adjustment matters more than brute force. Set the jaw so it fully seats on the pipe before you pull, and let the OVERBITE jaw do the work. You will get a cleaner bite and less chance of slipping on smaller fittings.
