Key Features

One-Hand Sharpening The built-in sharpener in the sheath lets you clean up the point fast without digging around for another tool. That saves time when you are marking repeatedly during layout work. Deep Reach Tip This Milwaukee mechanical pencil is built to reach into tight spots where standard carpenter pencils and bulky markers fall short. That matters when you need a clear mark inside channels, corners, or against hardware. Jobsite Tough The impact-resistant body and sheath are made for real jobsite use, not desk work. If it rides in your pocket, pouch, or bag all day, that added durability makes a difference.

Overview

The Milwaukee 48-22-3301 Mechanical Pencil with Lead Pack is a jobsite marking tool built for tradespeople who need a finer, more controlled mark than a standard carpenter pencil. This is a mechanical pencil designed for layout, marking, and deep-reach access in tight work areas. Model Number: 48-22-3301. Milwaukee pairs the pencil with a 10-piece graphite lead pack, so you are not starting from scratch on day one.

What makes this pencil different is how it solves two common problems on the job: keeping a sharp point and getting the tip where your hand will not fit. The sheath includes a built-in sharpener for easy one-handed sharpening, which is a practical feature when you are moving between cuts, measurements, and marks all day. The deep reach design also helps when you need to mark inside narrow openings, along edges, or around installed materials where bulkier marking tools are awkward.

Milwaukee built the 48-22-3301 around jobsite durability instead of office use. The body and sheath are both described as impact resistant, which matters for a tool that is going to live in a pocket, tool pouch, or truck. That tougher build is the difference between a marking tool you trust every day and one that breaks after a drop or gets wrecked by dust and debris.

The included lead matters too. This pencil uses 2.8 mm 2B graphite lead, which gives you a bold, visible line without going to a chunky carpenter pencil. For layout work on wood and other common jobsite materials, that thicker lead gives you a better balance of visibility and control than the thin lead used in standard shop pencils.

From a workflow standpoint, this is a better fit for carpenters, remodelers, electricians, punch-list crews, and serious DIY users who do accurate measuring and repeat marking. If you are transferring measurements with a speed square, marking cut lines on lumber, or reaching into tight spots around installed material, this pencil is a lot more useful than a basic pencil from a hardware bin.

Milwaukee also keeps the system straightforward. The package includes the mechanical pencil and a graphite lead pack, and Milwaukee identifies the refill pack as 48-22-3302. That makes replacement simple for users who want to keep the same marking setup in rotation instead of treating pencils like disposable supplies.

Mark Clearly in Tight Spots

This is where the long, narrow marking tip earns its keep. When you are doing layout on lumber or working off a square, the pencil gives you better access and a more precise mark than a bulky carpenter pencil.

• Deep reach design helps mark into tighter spaces
• 2.8 mm 2B graphite lead gives a bold, visible line for layout work

Sharpen Fast and Keep Moving

The built-in sharpener in the sheath is a small feature that actually saves time. Instead of hunting for a blade or another sharpener, you can clean up the point quickly and get back to marking.

• Built-in sheath sharpener supports one-handed sharpening
• Pocket-ready sheath keeps the pencil close and protected between uses

Built for Real Jobsite Abuse

Marking tools get dropped, stepped on, and buried in dust. Milwaukee calls out both the body and sheath as impact resistant, which makes this a better everyday carry option for construction and remodeling work.

• Impact-resistant body helps the pencil hold up in rough conditions
• Impact-resistant sheath protects the tool when carried in a pocket or pouch
